Awesome show, sat 3rd row mezzanine, Palladium was a great venue. Went to see AC/DC and they blew the doors off the place. Bon put Angus on his shoulders and they went up the aisles into the crowd. Angus did his strip routine during The Jack or Bad Boy Boogie, not sure which. AC/DC rocked the place so hard almost fell asleep during UFO.

Being a fan for years before I couldn’t wait. When opening with Live Wire the stage was dark as the opening bass played. When Phil Rudd hit the drums the lights exploded and Angus came running down a ramp and blew everybody’s minds. Bon Scott was incredible. The other reviewer had one thing wrong though. An honest mistake I’m sure but Angus walked off on Bon Scott’s shoulders but walked the aisles on a road crew’s shoulders. I think Bon would have collapsed! Also, I can’t believe anybody would fall asleep when UFO plays!

I was sixteen and this was my first concert in an official concert venue, not a club, so I was really excited to go to the famous Palladium. The music scene in New York at the time was fabulous. Our seats were in the balcony and we could see the old venue was packed and smoke filled. There was a gigantic crystal chandelier about the size of a VW Bug hanging from the ceiling and when AC/DC started playing the sound was so powerful that that thing started rocking and swaying and we could see the dust of ages raining down on the crowd below. When I saw that I wasn't sorry any longer that we weren't down in the orchestra seats because it seriously looked like that chandelier might fall down and crush the people below. Needless to say it was a fabulous show and remains one of my fondest memories among many of a New York City that was once wild and free and the best place for a teenager to rock.

Was dating a girl whose little brother wanted to go to the show, but the only way he could go was if I took him. I was 19 and he was 13. I wasn't into them... this concert changed everything! After they opened for UFO, we left, went around to the back of the Palladium and waited by the bus for the band. Met Bon and Angus, they signed my ticket stub, had my arm around Angus shoulder and helped by handing him everyone's stub to be signed... crazy!!! And my girlfriend's little brother got the thrill of his life.... he stood at the bus door with me as the band got aboard and as Angus, whose like 5'2", went to get on the bus he stopped, turned to the kid and said, "I like you... you're the only one I can talk to eye to eye." I thought the kid was gonna drop dead right there! I'm 60 now, haven't seen the kid in over 40 years and I've since lost my signed stub. Kills me to this day. Good night!

I was 16 at the time. I went to see UFO with a friend or two...we sat mezzanine front and center It was maybe the second concert I ever saw. We were there on time and this warm up band was about to play. Woa!!! What is this!! Who are these guys and what is that lead guitarist doing in a private school uniform?? Holy crap...he doesn’t stop running and shaking his head up and down...the fans that came to see this group...they’re screaming raving mad fans and this band is awesome! I’ll never forget that warm up band, AC/DC...they did blow the doors off of UFO and I became a big fan later on when Back In Black came out but I’ll never forget seeing the original lineup with Bon Scott!! What a night!

I attended the June 1979 Palladium show. Was there primarily for UFO, but was also an AC/DC fan. AC/DC was fantastic and completely wiped my memory of UFO's performance. In fact, until I recently wondered who else was on the bill that night and looked it up, I didn't even remember that it was UFO! (and oh yeah, I was sober as a judge that night.) I was (still am) a huge Schenker era UFO fan, but although Paul Chapman was an excellent guitarist, the chemistry/songwriting just weren't the same.
A bad memory from that night: someone on the mezzanine above our seats hocked a loogie over the edge and it landed on the girl I was with who promptly wiped it on me. It wasn't a good relationship, haha!
