If that is the only time they appeared at the Tower, I was there - don't remember UFO. Angus was unreal.

I believe I was at this show and had the most unreal time of my life. Angus Young was non-stop with the head shaking and had a wireless guitar that had me shaking my head how it worked. (Remember this was 1979). The most memorable thing was the jackass three rows in back of me that threw a sparkler onto the stage but landed in the drapes and caught fire. Angus just kept playing. Flames got bigger and bigger... Angus kept playing. Fireman walked on stage in full fire protection and sprayed fire extinguisher that cover the entire stage and the first three rows of the crowd... and Angus kept playing!!!
Then Angus and Bon Scott just ran off the stage up the cente raisle of the Tower...and Angus kept playing. The next thing I know Angus is on Bon Scott's shoulders and they are right at the knee high rail of the balcony and Angus is playing and hanging over the balcony and I swore they were both going over!!!! I never knew who AC/DC was before that night but they are one of my favorite bands because they kick ass and also the events of that night....even without Bon Scott!!!
Went to see UFO and Michael Schenker was not there that night so I was bummed and to be honest AC/DC stole the show!!!

Went for the UFO show but was blown away by the opening act AC/DC. Some idiot threw a sparkler into the curtains at the tower and they caught fire. So here is AC/DC playing and the spot light operator is flashing the spots on the ever growing flames but the band just kept playing. Finally when the flames reached about ten feet in height someone hit it with a fire extinguisher but the band never missed a beat. Let there be rock!

My wife [9months pregnant], best friend Joe T, and myself went to this concert, to be honest, don't remember UFO, a great band in itself. This was AC/DC's night, powerful show, from start to finish. We sat about midway from the stage, as Bon Scott came up the aisle, I stuck my hand out and he slapped me 5. We where seated at the aisle. Today, 8-6-2017, just thinking about that concert and Bon Scott, Soon, 8-31, will be 61 years old, still remember, 38 years ago. One of my Top 3 concerts.

I had 6th row seat. I remember Angus young on Bon Scott shoulders and I was smacking him on his back, I was 14 years old. Best concert I ever saw.

I was at this show with my fiancé (got married a month later) and went to see UFO first, AC/DC second. I was 22 years old and playing in hard rock bands at the time. I had been going to the Tower for concerts since about 1972 and being from West Philly, it was literally minutes away. The acoustics were fantastic there and not a bad seat in the house. Now, don't get me wrong, UFO played well and put on a decent show, but AC/DC's performance that night is still something I remember after all these years. We sat in the last row, floor level and I still remember Angus being carried around the entire theater on Scott's shoulders as he soloed with his wireless. The only other performer I ever saw who put out that amount of physical energy into a performance was Bruce Springsteen. My fiancé, who was into $#@! like Donna Summer, felt like she had been beaten almost to death by a wall of sound. She never came to another concert with me after that one. I feel somewhat honored to have been there that night.

I was 15th row stage right for this show. Bought the tix for UFO and my musical life at the time was changed by the powerful show that AC/DC played that night. Unbelievable. UFO was inconsequential after AC/DC played. I didn’t know that a rock and roll show could be so intense; the music literally vibrates my bones to the core. This show forever became my archetype for a rock and roll show and all subsequent shows would be measured against this. I feared I was deaf following the show as my ears rang the whole way home on the EL back to northeast Philly. I took pix and I’ll see if I can find and upload.
