This was a 4IP promotion, to advertise their NEW number on the radio dial. 1010 (from the old 1008). Tickets were, yes you guessed it - $10.10 for 3 cool band!! Our problem was it was a Sunday night, school tomorrow... we were 14. Bryan and myself managed to talk our parents into letting us go alone into TOWN to see some angry rock band :)
1st up was "The stars" ..they were cool, played Happy days style.
2nd up - "Supernaught"...weirdly great.
Crowd went wild , when ACDC came on... Remember QLD in 1976 was held in the 50's by Joh. He wanted to stop them coming, due to "disgusting acts" by Angus ....so would angus pull down his pants again HERE in Brisbane?
Bon was full on and Angus played like an angry school boy. We stood on the metal arms of the chairs to try and see the band, and try and understand the singing. Festival hall wasn't real good for hearing anything. I rocked out to my angus air guitar! Some bogan bikers looked at me and laughed. Nearly got bashed on way home. Great story of my 1st concert :)
Saw them again in 1991, 2010 and 2016.
