My best friend took me to this concert on my 21st birthday, July 19, 1979. The place was full, with most everyone there to see Mahogony Rush. I didn't really like them. When they finished, most everyone left, they closed off half of the arena and then they introduced this new British band named AC/DC that was playing San Diego for the first time. There weren't more than 200-300 people in there but those guys put on a show I have not forgotten to this day. Seeing Bon Scott strut that stage and the Young brothers blasting the rafters was quite an experience I'll never forget!!

My friend John and I were there to see Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush. I think Frank Marino is a great guitarist, and that it was a pretty good show. When their set was over, it seemed that just about everyone left. We heard there was going to be another band playing, and he and I thought about whether to stay, or leave. We decided that since we had paid for the tickets, we might as well see the whole show.
Like the other person said, it was a show I still haven't forgotten. Bon Scott was a big stage presence, and Angus Young played like no one else I've ever seen. Not many people in San Diego got to see their show that night, and that's a shame. They played as if they were in front of 100,000.
I'm glad we decided to stay.
