Unbelievable! Well worth the two and a half plane journey! Seeing Slash was a real bonus, really got the party going, Angus as usual was at his best despite the rain, AC/DC gave a well polished performance that struck all the right notes to a very excited arena, brilliant, the best band ever, better than they have ever been, keep on rocking!!!!

Despite the deluge and the organizer nearly canceling the concert due to strong winds AC/DC certainly had Nice rocking. Angus, Brian and the rest of band were blinding and performed like true professionals. Brian had some technical problem during Whole Lotta Rosie but Malcolm gave him a reassuring look and the show just kept on rocking. We Salute You AC/DC

I am surprised to hear such good reviews about the Show in Nice, France. We waited a long time for this gig and travelled a long way to go to it. There are a couple of things that really ruined it for us. Firstly why on earth they did not use the postal system to deliver tickets ( or e-ticketing ) for the tickets we had already brought and paid for months before we had to queue for over 2 hours to collect before the show. Very poorly organised venue in this respect as well as that everything seemed impossible as we were unable to get a drink the entire concert also due to queueing.

So the show begins, super stoked that they had Slash fronting them as support act this was not advertised so a really nice surprise and he was really good too!

AC/DC come on, OK fair enough it was pissing down the entire show but Brian obviously was having some vocal chord issues and the sound quality also was poor. Brian sounded like he was losing his voice and he was not even singing all the lyrics and looked like he was in pain when he did try to. At one stage there was terrible feedback on the mike not what you expect from a highly respected and professional band. so big boo for them, we seen them last year in London and the show was amazing. Very very unhappy with the show in France.

We travelled from Blighty to see The Lads in Nice thinking we’d get us a good bit of sun on our pale skins, whilst seeing the best band in the world to boot. Unfortunately, the gig coincided with the heaviest rainfall on the Cote D’azur for 180 years. Ah well, despite the weather and the crowd and the poor organisation, in our opinion it was well worth the time and effort. After all, we still got to see the best band in the world.

I first saw AC/DC on 3rd November 1978 at the Mayfair in Newcastle. So as you can imagine I'm no young whippersnapper any more. However, me and my mate, who was also at the Mayfair all those years ago, had more energy than any of the people around us at Nice. I've never seen such an unenthusiastic and static crowd. A bunch of lads near us even had ear plugs in! Anyway, we didn’t let the French reserve stop us from having a good leap around, though I think the French in their cagoules thought us Brits in our shorts and t shirts had escaped from the local loony bin. God knows what they would have made of a Glasgow crowd!

Thought the organisation was poor as well. Arrived at the North side of the stadium, but our entrance was at the south side. Felt like we had to walk miles to get there. And when we finally got in there was one measly beer tent for half the stadium. So, still thirsty we made our way to a position reasonably near the front – undergoing a barrage of abuse from the French who seemed to think they were at a garden party.

I know others have said they thought Brian’s voice was a bit ropey and the sound was somewhat dodgy, personally I thought he was a bit croaky at the start but he soon warmed up and there was certainly a good sound where we were. As far as the actual gig went I thought AC/DC were their usual amazing selves. Okay Angus may not be the ball of hell he was 32 years ago, but for God’s sake he’s 55 now! He still puts more into a show than most performers 30 years his junior. The same goes for Brian (63?) and the rest of the band.

So, we had a ball and the band looked as if they were having a ball too. If that’s the last time I see them it wasn’t a bad gig to remember them by. But if it’s not and they’re back next year I reckon I’ll stick to Glasgow and another European city – I’ve heard that the Dutch crowd is good so “Voor die ongeveer aan rots. Wij groeten u”. Ain’t free online translation great!
