Was at the show in Puncheston - absolutely mind blowing, weather was terrible I've never experienced such a wall of sound, it was definitely the best gig I've been to and AC/DC certainly give value for money. It was awesome...

And we Salute you too. Third time seeing AC/DC and still as good as ever. They are master craftsmen doing what they've done best for 35 years. They have tons of energy one song after the other with no waffle in between and that kept going continuous with a short break after Let there be rock in which Angus got to cool off in our lovely Irish rain on the centre elevation. I also feel I have to mention the rhythmn section i.e. Malcolm, Cliff and Phil absolutely flawless an excellent show. Hope it's not the last!

Jesus, one of the best concert's I've ever been at, apart from the rain the heavens opened and it pissed on us. It took 3 and a half hours on a Dublin bus to get to Punchestown.....what was the story???? Blue route at a stand still back to back Dublin buses empty and thousands of soaked fans walking for miles & miles ....so much for public transport...had to leave before the end to try and get back to Dublin before the mass exit of 70,000 people...

For Those About To Walk, Dublin Bus Does Not Salute You....
There are certain things I don't like. Bon Jovi, people who insist on talking to you while you're doing your shopping, The Blizzards, and bad public transport organisation. Well, myself, Capcom and Bockwinkle got nothing but yesterday. After being recognised in the street as "Angus", and filmed by a camera man on the bus, we set off for Punchestown. All went well until we hit KILL (Which I'm pretty sure Bon Scott named before he went to that party in the sky. Then the Rock And Roll shit hit the fan.
We departed the bus and hopped a fence. Thinking, in that beautiful Irish way, "Sure, it can't be that far, there's signs for a Blue Lane. Fuck it lads, we'll be grand." We were not. 40 or 50 minutes in, and one crazed autograph hunter later (he asked me to scrab Angus into his skin with his nails...), we came upon another stretch of road. The rock and roll hamsters in Capcom's brain did a duckwalk of ideas and he decided to flag a taxi down. Yeoooww!!!!
Luckily for us, there was a guard at the entrance. Which I found very Irish. With a tailback of six miles the far side of a bendy road. You have to love the organisation there. Anyway, we caught the tail end of The Blizzards. They were so desperate to be loved, they went super cheap and ended a song with a few bars of "Beat It." The crowd reacted, then stopped when they segued back into one of their life-affirming, tight jeaned indie whinery.
The Answer, fronted by Robert Plant, delivered a tight set. Inoffensive like. And after what seemed like an eternity, the lights went down and Punchestown was treated to what is the smuttiest cartoon this side of The Flinstones Happy Funtime Swingers Hour. The train literally "split the night", and AC/DC blew us all away, and we led the vocal charge of Rock And Roll Train.
If you were there, you know how utterly fantastic it was. I don't need to describe it. If you were not there, let me put it this way. As a fan stated on an internet documentary, "If aliens landed tomorrow, and asked me what was rock and roll, I'd just hand them a copy of Back In Black." Personally, I'd tell them to go back in time and see the gig last night. But with my lack of warp speed and knowledge of silence, I'll side with the internet fan.

What can I say about this band that hasn't already been said, they are just amazing. This was a brilliant show, no other band can come close to them. It started to piss rain just as Angus was doing his solo during Let There Be Rock & he was out on the platform but the rain made it look even better as the platform started to move up, the lights shining down on Angus the rain all around & Angus giving everything he could give as he always does into his solo. I met Angus's guitar tech before the show, I asked him could I go backstage but he said that was up to management but he'd come back later, don't know if he came back or not cos I went away, I hope for my sake he didn't come back. I hope this isn't there last tour, hopefully they'll come back to Ireland also. Thinking bout going to see them again on this tour, hopefully I'll be able to. All I can say now is thanks Angus, Brian, Malcolm, Cliff & Phil. What a night, what a concert, what a band.

This was my 4th time seeing the boys quite literally work their magic. They had the crowd in the palm of their hands and you know what??? If I'm not mistaken Angus gave us a few extra minutes on his brilliant solo later during the show! Altogether this day rates as THE best gig I have ever been at. What an amazing gig!!! Still buzzing a few days later. Even the predictable Irish rain couldn't cool this show down. AC/DC was the first band I ever saw live (Kings Hall Belfast 1991) and it's taken me 18 years to see them again. Well worth the wait!
From the explosive opening of "RnR Train" to the grand finale of "For Those About To Rock" the lads never stopped entertaining us. Just wish I was at Hampden Park tonight in Glasgow.
Must say that the stewarting and police control of Punchestown was appalling. There could easily have been another Hillsborough Disaster as they lead about three quarters of the 70,000 plus crowd into a small caged area to wait on the "FREE" bus service which we all paid €20 for to get home. This area became so over crowded and people had to bust the barriers to free themselves before anyone was crushed to death. This started a stampede and mayhem followed. We then waited 4 hours to get home as the bus service came to a halt. It kinda put a dampner on the day but it didn't take away the fact that AC/DC were awesome!

Absolutely fantastic. The best out door gig i was ever at. Was at the O2 in April which was brilliant never thought they could top that. From RnR Train straight through to For those about to rock they gave it there all. To see Angus on his pedestal in the rain was brilliant. Brian started laughing during Whole lotta Rosie cause the crowd were just singing every word. The crowd, the rain everything was a little bit of magic that added to one of the greatest shows on this planet. Thunderstruck, Dirty deeds, Hells bells, the list goes on but for me TNT stole the show. Just brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!

Man it had to be the best concert they have ever done, I mean the atmosphere was amazing, with nearly 90 thousand ppl how could it not.. but they blew my mind like it waznt like ''ahh man this is such a class band'' it was a bit more like '' holy shiiiiittttt they are fuckin amazin!!!!!!'' Anyway yeah when they comin' back coz I gotta see em again!!!

4:10pm Arrived at Goffs for the park and ride, qued for one and a half hours to get a coach. The driver decided to go onto the Naas dualler against a Gardas advice and we all went mental on the coach, it was 6:15pm at this stage. Cut down to exit 10 and proceeded to follow some sort of route....till disaster. We went about 5 mile down a country road for a lone garda to turn the coach around and send us back the way we came........aggghhhhhhh. Anyway got to a point where traffic was at a standstill, so we got off the bus and walked the rest of the way, thank God we missed the Blizzards. It was 7:10pm at this stage.
Once we got in, it turned out my cuz had a surprise for myself and the missus. He managed to get 3 pit passes for the left hand side of the stage, couldn't believe it, unreal. Thats what you get for 30 years supporting metal he told me!!! Unbelievable!
Anyway The Answer came on and played their hearts out, great set, well done lads.
Then what we came to see. I can only describe this as one of the best bands I have ever seen live, and I have seen some bands do their stuff. From Runaway Train to For Those About To Rock (We Salute You), it truly was Amazing! Angus Young is the true guitar solo master. After the spectacle we had just witnessed, and just think that the rain didn't bother anyone including Angus and the Boys, THEN.........guess what.........
Thanks to the transport end of things again, we qued from 11:55pm till 2:15am quening again for a coach. We started to heckle and shout abuse at the stewards, ten minutes later about 5 Dublin bus double deckers and a private coach arrived to collect us.
Any of you lads remember this one!
After all is said and done, One hell of a gig, Come back soon lads, PLEASE DON'T END IT NOW.

I can hand on heart say this was the daddy of all concerts. AC/DC never cease to amaze me but this was special. From the intro and rock n roll train to for those about to rock I don't think my feet touched the ground. It was a very rainy night but that just made it better, seeing Angus do his solo during Let there be rock on a platform in the middle of 80,000 crazy fans with the rain bouncing off him is an image I will never forget. The set list was perfect well I have always wanted to hear Ride on live but I'll forgive them. Shoot to thrill was pure rock n roll and new tracks were all received very well and Anything goes must be an AC/DC classic already. The special effects were typical DC with the fire, big train and Rosie making an appearance but highlight of the night for me was Let there be rock and the sight of Angus in the rain I could go on for hours about this show but I wont. AC/DC I salute you and so does 80,000 rocking Irish fans.

I was lucky enough to get tickets for my 30th birthday to see AC/DC in Dublin. I have been a fan for years and never thought I would get to see them live. They were unbelievable, absolutely brilliant and I loved how the Irish dressed up as either Brian or Angus. Now that I am back in Australia I will be going to the Melbourne concert.

Another in a long saga of great gigs. I know it is now Jan. 2010, but I am just here skullin a few tinnies listening to Planet Rock, sky channel 0110, remin, remines, thinking about all the gigs I have attended since AC/DC in the Olympic in '79. The good old days, quickly followed by the 1st Donnington, the 1st Slane, long live Rose Tattoo/ Thin Lizzy. Motorhead in UCD, Donnington '84 has to be up there, google it, FLOYD/PAGE/PLANT/Prince, Wembley Arena/AIC/SOUNDGARDEN/RUSH/UFO/PRIEST/SCORPIONS/THE RODS/Y&T/QUEENSRYCHE/DIO/CELTIC FROST/ANVIL/TWISTED SISTER in Dalylier/Rory anywhere, Mary Coughlan, Billy Connolly, Neil Young/Santana/George Thorogood /Schenker/Bowie/Gary, Christy Moore/AEROSMITH/PANTERA/RATM/RHCP, bring another rock band to Slane by the way, great times where had and hopefully more to come. Recently seen the Mars Volta, Bonnamassa, both excellent. Looking forward to Karma to burn/ High on Fire, anyway where was I, ahhhh Punchestown, fantastic, traveled with a niece and her beau and our wan, had parking facilities in Naas courtesy of work and traveled out in to the beyond on Dublin snail. All was worth it. The wan, had seen the boys before on numerous occasions but to watch the crowd who obviously to many was a 1st time experience was great to see that a band who you nailed onto 30 odd years ago are still doing the business.

Excellent performance by the lads (as always) despite the horrible weather, Brian gets better with age, he really is a class act. Angus seems to grow old backwards ;) (One thing though, could the site moderators please change this venue heading to County Kildare. Punchestown is not in Dublin and never was, there are actually venues in Ireland that aren't in Dublin funnily enough. *sarcastic groan* If only people outside Ireland would open their eyes and realise this)
