AC/DC is back and stronger than ever! This being my 9th show since 1981. Angus still has unbelievable energy for 53 year old man. Brian's Lyrics were very strong and he seemed really into it very loose and much more talkative then ever before. The new songs were solid and the classics were just that CLASSIC! The opening video was very funny all the usual gadgets the Bell, Rosie, pyro, cannons were awesome! My 14 year old son got to see his 1st AC/DC concert and was blown away. At the end Brian said we will be seeing you meaning coming back for another show on this tour or perhaps another album and tour down the road. Either way those great words to hear. Thanks for a great night AC/DC!

By Brian, Mankato:
Great show! Not sure why they need to bring "The Answer" as an opening act. With the set list they have, no warm up is necessary.
I know that one of the great things about AC/DC is that they don't change, however it would be nice to mix up the shows a bit. Every show of this tour has been the same. I miss great songs like "If you want blood", "It's a long way to the top", etc. Too many songs to play all their best, but it would be nice to be surprised once in awhile.

I watched both shows of the Black Ice tour at St. Paul and I will say this, they must've been warming up on the 11/23 because last night they blew the stage all to hell!!!!! This band can still kick some ass!!!!!! Was a privilege to see them live even if they are old. As far as "The Answer"? there sound man was terrible couldn't hear what they were saying but they sure got a lesson from the legends!!!!!

AC/DC Started off strong with Rock 'N Roll Train, followed by Thunderstruck, Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be, The Jack, Let There Be Rock, Whole Lotta Rosie, and more classic songs (as well as a few more from Black Ice, including War Machine and There She Goes). Double encores with For Those About To Rock (with cannons) and Highway to Hell (with trapdoor Angus and smoke). Had some Dirty Deeds and TNT tossed into the mix, and you've got yourself a band that is white hot the whole way through, WITHOUT mentioning Angus' strip dance during The Jack.
The concert was ABSOLUTELY amazing. I haven't seen a whole lot of rock concerts, but their performance, not just musically but also stage-wise is bar none the best you can get for your money. I was in section 101, row 7, seat 6, about 15 feet away from the band. I have to say I felt bad for Phil because at the distance we were, we could feel the heat from the train prop when they pyro blew, and Phil was maybe 6 feet underneath it.
In any case, AC/DC, you guys whipped major ass (and eardrums - mine still ring in complete silence) and you have every right, and then some to be proud of yourselves.
I rate this concert an effing 20 out of 10. If you have the money to get the tickets, DO IT because you will not regret it.
I hope those that are still on the fence jump off and go see them!

Unbelievable show, Brian, Angus, and the band were at their best. Stage show was second to none; the song set and the level it was performed was album quality. Totally enjoyed the concert from the first light flash to the boom of the final cannon; if you can find a ticket go!!!

Let there be rock, and there was ROCK Monday night January 19, 2009 when the AC/DC Rock-n-Roll train pulled into the Excel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN for their second sold-out show in less than 60 days, on the North American leg of their Black Ice tour. I was one of the lucky ones to see both shows. Parents brought their kids and kids of all ages brought their parents! I heard many a comment that this was their first time experiencing 'The Thunder From Down-Under.' I sat next to a couple from Toronto, Ontario who flew in just for the show! The only thing I found better than seeing the 6 minute opening video of the run-away, rock-n-roll sex train twice, was to see it closer than before! Additional seats for Monday night’s show went on sale right after the November concert (which sold out in less than an hour), so I jumped on em. It didn’t matter that all that was left was the end of the stage/obstructed view, I took my chances. This is AC/DC! Turned out to be awesome seats...four rows from the stage and only five seats in the row! The only obstruction I found was a really well coordinated smoke machine between me and Brian Johnson, who made frequent visits to the side of the stage (maybe 25’ away) to rest his foot up on the near monitor. Brian smiled all night pointing up at us and pumped his fist in the air like it was 1980 all over again! From the very first riff of ‘Rock-n-Roll Train’ to the last farewell wave at the end of ‘For Those About To Rock (We Salute You) the whole band was cranked and having fun. They were in tune and we fed off each other’s energy all night, and energy there was. Not only was every seat taken, but people were dancing in the aisles sporting their newly acquired blinking red demon horns in lieu of bic lighters! As I looked around the arena, it was a virtual sea of people and red blinking lights and smoke. This is AC/DC in it's purest sense! As good as November’s show was I was soon to realize this was something special. One of those once in a lifetime shows. In retrospect, this was evident when I walked in the doors. You could feel the energy, and tip of the hat to 'The Answer', what a great warm up band. They reminded me a lot of early AC/DC or Led Zeppelin! After the incredible ‘Rock-n-Roll Train’ opened the show, the lads jumped back to ‘Hell Ain’t A Bad Place To Be’ with strong drums by Phil Rudd, and Cliff Williams pounding out the bass like never before! I was sure I could feel Bon’s presence all over the place, especially when they did his former songs. Third song in ‘Back In Black.’ What a setlist, even if it was the same as November they showed you can never get too much of a good thing. Brian hit it hard, working all areas of the stage and going down the runway high-fiving as many people as he could along the way, and running back again. It was so cool watching him singing and high-fiving people on his hands and knees at the same time. One report said they could not feel the pounding in their chest! Were they dead or still outside? My God the sound got louder and louder and you didn’t know how loud until after the show and all you could hear was the ringing in your ears. The young couple sitting next to me from Canada ran their batteries down on their camera, and both picture phones, especially so during ‘The Jack’ when Angus did his striptease not quite baring his bum like back in the day, but revealing a pair of underwear with AC/DC printed in big, bold letters on the back of them. Then there’s something about hearing more than 17,000 people chanting ‘Dirty Deeds’ and Oi, Oi, Oi to T.N.T. Just about the time you think you might sit down and catch your breath they lower ‘Hells Bells’ on ya, and follow up with ‘Shoot To Thrill!’ Brian's voice was right on all night long. Hell the raspier he gets, the better he sounds. Before the lads start the pre-encore, you’re seduced with ‘You Shook Me All Night Long’ then ‘Whole Lotta Rosie’ featuring a giant, stage-sized red blowup doll straddling the train, and something I couldn’t see in the first show, she was actually pounding her foot along with Angus. Then it’s time for the Angus solo in ‘Let There Be Rock’ which drives home the fact for me that Angus Young is truly super-human. The highlight of the show for me, well there were actually 18 of them, including the encore which featured smoke and flames throughout the stage and Angus rising from fiery hell through an illuminated red square in the front/center of the stage as he freakin pounded the opening riffs of ‘Highway To Hell’! I envy anyone who has tickets for upcoming shows, and salute you.

AC/DC I salute you!! This was my first AC/DC concert and hopefully not my last. I have loved the band since the 70s but never had the opportunity to see them live. The sold out Xcel Energy Center in St Paul was rockin' Monday night! I can't believe the energy this band can bring each and every night they perform. From the opening XXX video and Rock and Roll Train to the encore of Highway to Hell and For Those About to Rock We Salute You, the boys from Down Under totally rocked!! Angus was incredible. He is by far one of the best guitar players ever, even better than TRIPS lead guitar from West Des Moines. His solo during Let There Be Rock with the video screen showing a close-up of his fingers had me mesmerized. The montage of all of AC/DC album covers was extremely cool, kind of took you back in time 35 years. Brian can still hit the high notes on Shoot to Thrill which just amazes me. He has the stage presence that makes you WANT to be there and he looks like he's having fun. Cliff can hit the C-note better than any bass player I know, even the Dude from DFW metro. Malcolm blended nicely, you knew he was there but you really didn't. Phil chain smoked and pounded the skins like Dr Don on steroids. I saw 70 year olds and 10 year olds and they were all had one thing in common...a rock and roll extravaganza that they will never forget. I even saw a few throwbacks from the 80s smoking left-handers in the parking lot before the show. You can't stop rock & roll!!!
