By Jim Pyfer, Caledonia, IL:
This was the first time I saw the boys play. I had taken my 13 year old sister in law to see Cheap Trick and was blown away by AC/DC. The adrenaline was unbelievable. When Bon carried Angus thru the crowd on his shoulders it was cool as hell!

By Dave C., Milwaukee:
My 3rd AC/DC show that year and the best.
Large crowd of what I remember as 60,000 and a very hot day. Steve Dahl and Teenage Radiation opened.
AC/DC was really on and the crowd was large and loud. They again stole the show, again.
I have great pics and may download in the future. Still my favorite AC/DC show to this day!
Bon has been missed........

By Ray, Port Charlotte, FL:
AC/DC was so good, no one cared to see or hear The Babys who were chased off stage. After this show, I was an AC/DC fan for life.

It rained like crazy and it was cold the 3rd of July and still raining when we walked up to the gates on the 4th of July. then the sun came out and it got hot and weather was great for the rest of the show. Stage hand got injured after a fan threw an m80 on stage. There was a big water puddle right in front of the stage and Bon Scott had Angus on his shoulder and came through the crowd right by us.it was a great show. Been to 8 AC/DC shows but that was the only one I was blessed to see with Bon Scott. RIP BON...AC/DC 4 EVER

By Matthew Dunn, Highland, Kansas/USA:
My son now plays like Angus and I tell him I saw him actually play and Bon sing on this day so long ago. Never forget him climbing the scaffolding behind us at this concert.
One of the greatest times ever. Took my then girlfriend to this one and definitely got laid later. Nuff said.
The day was great. The bands were great. Wish other people could have seen such a lineup on such a memorable day for Rock.
Angus is a guitar god. Nobody, not even Eddie Van Halen, can play like him. Wish Bon was still here. Nothing against Brian, but Bon was the real voice of AC/DC and always will be.

My first ever concert! Hotter than hell and got 2nd degree sunburn on my face from sitting in a field from 7:00 am. AC/DC played loud and hard. Recall an incident half way thru their set when somebody threw a cherry bomb on stage and they temporarily stopped playing to make an announcement.

By Dora, Colorado :
This was my very first concert ever. I was a huge Cheap Trick fan but when I saw AC/DC that all changed. I'm very glad I got to see Bon Scott. I was lucky enough to be right where Bon Scott came through crowd with Angus on his shoulders. I remember this show like it was yesterday. Best concert ever

By KELLY KING, ELKHART IN:
No ticket climbed the fence then the other fence to backstage. Hung out with Ted Nugent's mom and Bon. Shared a bottle of whiskey with him. Angus was in the trailer so I knocked on the door and asked for his guitar pick to give to a friend. He gave me the one he used with teeth marks in it. Bon told security I could stay backstage after the firecracker incident.

This was the first concert that I had ever seen, I was 16yrs old. I went with three car loads of friends from Gurnee Il. I had not heard a song from ACDC yet but one of my friend had and said they were good. The LOOP FM98 Steve Dahl and Teenage Rad, was good The insane Coho lips!! Then Molly Hatchet, I listen to there music, like them a lot! They rocked, Great show! Then ACDC! WOW!!! The set seemed to be like the album " If You Want Blood You Got It" With Bon swinging from light rack, and Angus head banging, and spinning on the stage below!!!! They smoked the place!!!!! And I'm a fan for life!!!! For any band to take the stage after that is insane!!! The Baby's were booed off. And the home town boys and head liner Cheap Trick recovered, But ACDC stole the show!!!!! A great concert I will never forget!!!

By Tim, Phoenix, AZ/US:
Best concert of my life. Drove from Northern Indiana with a buddy. I was 16. Arrived in the early morning with thousands of people already at the gates. It was raining and hot. I ended up blacking out from the heat, crowding and other dumb things I did earlier in life. A biker group picked me off the ground and put me on a dumpster.
Probably saved my ass. I can tell people I saw Bon Scott and will remember and appreciate forever!

Was 16 living in Rockford, Illinois and AC/DC blew everyone off the stage. Cheap Trick was a disappointment imo. Don't remember the cherry bomb incident but do remember Bon and Angus going through the audience rocking out. Remember the Baby's getting pissed off that no one liked them, the singer saying "What do you all read books?" lol. Remember 2 rough looking guys sitting next to us on the ground kicking some poor guys ass for stepping on their blanket. I guess they were fed up with people walking on it all day and this poor guy was the recipient of their anger. Scared this 16 yo's ass. RIP Bon and Malcolm! One of the Greatest R&R bands ever!
Here's a youtube of the show with Cheap Trick:

First concert ever as a 15 Year old. AC/DC stole the show. Steve Dahl was a local hero and did fine. Molly Hatchet was awesome too. The Baby’s got booed off the stage. They sucked. Cheap Trip, the local headliner, who was supposed to steal the show but couldn’t. Great day! I’ve seen them a dozen times since (including losing the hearing in my left ear at a For Those about to Rock concert at Notre Dame concert a few years later). This was the only Bon Scott concert and the best!

I was 21 years old and had just started my first full time job. I had already been an AC/DC fan for several years but I had never seen them live. At this concert they were my main reason for going but I also wanted to see Cheap Trick because they were my home town band. Shortly after they started playing I knew I would be a life long fan. I still have all my AC/DC albums and still play them to this day. I crowded up to the stage as close as I could get. The crowd was going crazy. What a GREAT time I had. Tremendous energy!! I remember the Baby's getting booed off the stage after the lead singer go hit in the face with a Frisbee. When Cheap Trick finally started and it took a long time for them to set up some of the crowd had already left. I stayed for a few songs but they could not match the explosive energy that AC/DC just brought to the crowd. I remember they cranked up the volume to keep people from leaving. I was over 100 yards away from the stage and the music was so loud it hurt my ears.

I've been to hundreds of concerts in my lifetime but this concert to this day ranks up there with the best of them. I was 17 at the time and me and a few buddies made our way to the stage left in front of Angus (and a huge tower of Marshall Amps). I recall the line-up of bands was not particularly strong aside from Cheap Trick and AC/DC the main attractions.
My most vivid memories of this concert was how LOUD AC/DC was, how Bon Scott commanded the audience and the image seared into my mind of Bon Scott putting Angus Young on his shoulders, jumping off the stage into the crowd and running with Angus still ripping chords while Bon was swinging him violently back and forth. The crowd of 60,000 was in a frenzy! RIP Bon Scott you rock!
