I first bought their album over in Germany will being stationed there. Man what a band full of energy. Then when I came home album in hand in '78 I seen where they were doing a show in Martin, TN. Well I had to go, with a bag and bottle of Jack and friends we got there feeling alright. The show was GREAT. Bon held Angus above his head while he rocked his guitar the show was so good. Never seen such energy on stage. They became and still are my favorite group. Keep rockin' like I know you will.

Yep, I was there! It was fantastic! I went to many concerts, most in Memphis, and still can't believe AC/DC played in this smallish city only 20 miles from me. I wish there was some video as I always made my way to the front row. I recall it being a basketball gym basically. Wish I had my ticket stub and could remember more! I do know I was with my best friend, Greg Moore, God rest his soul.

The opening act was Brownsville Station who's biggest hit was "Smokin' in the Boys Room", which Motley Crue covered in '85. The concert was general admission like most concerts then. We worked our way to the stage and came home with multiple drumsticks because the Brownsville Station drummer must have thrown a million!

For AC/DC, my brother had snuck in a small bottle of whiskey which he would refill before each concert he attended to see if he could get the lead singer to take a swig which he did have some success because John Waite (with The Babys), Rodney Justo (with Atlanta Rhythm Section) and on May 23rd, 1979, Bon Scott (with AC/DC) all took a drink from the now famous (at least in my mind) bottle!

David Beasley from Memphis turned me onto AC/DC when I got to MSU in 1978. I am from Lavinia and the next summer he calls me and says they are coming to Martin! WOW. He and his girlfriend from Memphis came down and I took Debby Ward from Jackson to the show. Fantastic! We sat in the side bleachers next to a dude from St Louis who said he was a "professional concert goer", whatever that is. He had a case of pre-rolled, hash oil soaked, joints. We had a great time! Bon put Angus on his shoulders and ran thru the crowd. It was great. I saw them again in September at North Hall in Memphis on the Highway to Hell tour. A roadie carried Angus thru the crowd that nite. One of the best. Brownsville Station opened and were pretty good as well.

I was there. I just graduated from Fancy Farm High School on May 20, 1979, three days before the concert. A friend of mine picked me up in his black 1968 Camaro. We stopped at the pool hall just across the street (skid road) of the Kentucky state line in South Fulton, Tennessee. The pool room guy gave us a cussing for asking to buy a case of beer for we under age however, he sold us one out the back door. I killed 5 beers on the way to Martin. I had a sack of gaunge we grew. I was wasted when we arrived. I had to piss bad. And yes Bon carried Angus on top of his shoulders around the top of the stadium. We thought this was great because most guitar had to have a power cord in those days. We smoked several doobies and a friend of mine Russ K. who is deceased who was 6 foot 6, red headed, and stood out like a sore thumb, handed Bon a whiskey bottle, slugged it and handed it back. I made my way down front by Russie. I had a red rose in my shirt pocket. Angus was foaming at the mouth with his eyes shut. I hit him in the face with the rose, he temporarily open his eyes. Bon walked over and said something about a fat woman and dedicated the next song to her. He then stomped the rose and pedals explodes from the rose into the air and they sang "A Whole Lotta Rosie" hit. It was great performance.
