To use an overused term, what a 'KICK ASS' concert!!! Like most other people, my friends and I had been waiting a long and grueling 4 years to see the boys live again and it was well worth the wait. The last time we saw them in Montreal, we were too young to think about making a road trip to see them again, but things were different this time around. We made our first AC/DC road trip, to Ottawa, and what a trip it was! It's always an adrenaline rush to look at the stage before hand and wonder what Angus is going to do. All I know is that the first thing we saw is the Bell hanging over the catwalk and that was enough to make us go nuts! The crowd pleasing You Shook Me is a great choice to kick off a concert because it's arguably their most popular song. The statue of Angus was absolutely awesome!
For us, the best part of it was during Highway when it was snorting out air and when it's eyes turned all red. What a chilling moment. Speaking about chilling moments, hearing 'Bad Boy Boogie' was unbelievable! My friends and I just started hi-fiving because we just couldn't believe our ears! The new songs sounded fresh and alive and the classic ones sounded better than ever. On a personal note, the highlight of the night was hearing Hells Bells. That one always manages to send cold chills up my back. Weirdest part of the night? Seeing people leave before the encore. If you don't stay for FTATR then why bother coming?
Oh yeah, another small highlight...MEETING ANGUS AND PHIL AFTER THE SHOW!!! HOLY COW! Phil is super friendly and Angus, well, what can you say. He's Angus! He signed the cover of my program and my ticket and my friends and me shook his hand and just simply told him what an honor it was to meet him. Until we meet again in Montreal, long live the Gods of Rock!

Two die hard AC/DC fans from England have just spent two weeks touring around Canada making sure that our stops along the "Highway To Hell" conveniently coincided with those of AC/DC in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.
I must single out the Ottawa show as it was truly the most incredible performance I have ever seen the band give. The sound quality was absolutely unbelievable, crystal clear and thunderously loud in equal measure! The legendary rhythm section of Mal, Cliff and Phil is tighter than ever, Angus did his usual thing, but I must take this opportunity to give extra credit to the performance of Beano. He charged around the stage with the energy and enthusiasm of a man half his age and his easy going rapport and good humoured banter with the crowd was something you very rarely see in a frontman these days. His voice really was in great condition despite the rumours that have been circulating in the press over the last couple of years that he had a throat problem and was in need of an operation!
I was a little bit surprised (and highly delighted) by how enthusiastic the Canadian crowds were, the atmosphere at the Corel Centre (how far out of the City Centre?!) before, during and after the show was absolutely electric and this seemed to only inspire the band to greater heights! The mixture of young and older fans together with whole families in attendance was something you don't usually see over here in Britain.
Can't really argue with the set list, stand out tracks were "Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be", "Satellite Blues" (best track on the new album), "Dirty Deeds", "Hells Bells", "Back In Black" (which worked even better towards the end of the set list) and of course "For Those About To Rock...". At the moment when the rest of the band kicked back in after the strip and guitar solo in "Bad Boy Boogie" I swear I could feel the earth tremor!
I was a little bit disappointed that nothing from my favourite Bon Scott era album "Powerage" was included, "Riff Raff" and/or "Gone Shootin'" would have gone down a treat.
As a live unit AC/DC are still at the very height of their powers but one wonders just how much longer they can maintain this level of performance. Rock and roll certainly doesn't get any better than this!

AC/DC of course kicked ass last night, and this being my first concert on my 19th Birthday made it the best 24 hours of my natural born life. Too many things made this night amazing and all reviews are accurate. I believe I witnessed Safe In New York City's live birth as they were wild to it, with images of NY (Streets, subways, sidewalks) on the jumbo screens. It replaced GET IT HOT. It was intense! The sound was perfect especially Phil's Monster beats and despite bad reviews in previous concert's, Brian's voice was on fire. The only other change in the line up was STIFF UPPER LIP, played third. HIGHWAY TO HELL was my favorite as the stage was covered in flames and the COREL CENTER as bright as if the house lights were on. HARD AS A ROCK was the funniest, with the cartoon porn that looked like a cross between the 7 dwarfs getting laid and the best of the DISCOVERY CHANNELS animal sex marathon. Major Highlight being my privilege to announce that AC/DC is going to ROCK live, on Ottawa's best Rock station CHEZ 106.1, and I didn't Lie. The show was nothing short of A GIANT DOSE OF ROCK 'N' ROLL. Breast's were shown numerous times as the crowd chanted SHE'S GOT THE JACK at girls on the jumbo screens, very funny. Nothing else new from last night's concert that wasn't in others. Enjoy the concert and don't get too blitz before, because trouble could ensue.
