By Scott "Chopper" Smith, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA:
I saw AC/DC in Chicago for the "Highway to Hell" tour the year before and it was a killer show. Then Bon Scott died a few months later and we thought that was the end of AC/DC. When they announced later in the summer of 1980 that they were coming to play in our home state of Minnesota at Met Center, we waited overnight to get tickets and got front row for the show! Then "Back in Black" came out (after we already got our tickets) and we were blown away with how good it was. Even though Bon was gone, they somehow managed to find a new singer and carry on. The show was amazing, with the big bell dropping from the ceiling for the opener "Hell's Bells" and the new songs mixed in with old favorites, they totally pulled it off. Angus was still insane on guitar, and Brian Johnson won me over with that show! Even though we missed Bon and his stage personality, Brian really did a great job taking over and keeping the AC/DC machine rolling. I've been a huge fan of Brian and the "new" AC/DC ever since.
