I traveled down from Liverpool with some mates to see AC/DC and the Stranglers, and guess who were the stars of the show? The place went mad when AC/DC came on stage and totally blew the place apart with a cracking set list.

Bon was on great form and Angus showed again what a great showman he is. Live Wire ripped the place and the sheer power and energy of Bad Boy Boogie got everyone rockin', just a shame about "Rosie" but they carried on regardless (PA switched off deliberately by the Who sound crew as the Who couldn't follow this), just great to see Bon on the big stage.

Totally blew the Who off stage! RIP BON.

My first ever AC/DC show having been introduced to them via a mate's copy of "If You Want Blood," which I played to death for months!

Went with a group of friends who wanted to see The Who and were babbling on about some sort of laser effects they were trying for the first time (they weren't bad as it turned out). My friends didn't seem much interested in my own ravings about this awesome band with the "schoolboy" guitarist who could completely blow Pete Townsend into the weeds.

I think it was Nils Lofgren who got the ball rolling. Don't remember much about that as I was too busy concentrating on getting nicely off my head.

Then, after what seemed like an interminable wait, there was a low burbling throbbing bass line that seemed to rumble up from the football pitch itself (I was somewhere near the centre circle) and there was the wee maestro on top of the trade mark wall of Marshalls! From that moment I was in heaven as they launched into "Live Wire".

They thundered through what I now know was basically the standard Highway to Hell tour setlist including Shot Down In Flames, Girl's Got Rhythm and of course Highway to Hell. It was a massive crowd who had mainly come to see The Who and most of whom had little or no interest in AC/DC at the start. By the end, I felt I had just witnessed tens of thousands of people waking up to this awesome band.

The show was marred (only a little) by the PA "failure" for the second half of "Rosie" and the first half of "Rocker" but the band didn't seem to notice and ploughed on regardless. Then they were gone.

I felt like going home immediately. There seemed no reason to stay after that! But stay I did and listened to the Stranglers and admired the technical wizardry of The Who's laser show but it was all a bit of an anticlimax. I was more interested in trying to work out where I would get the money to see them again as soon as possible (which I happily did at Hammersmith Odeon on 2nd November)

Seen them about 20 times now but this one was just so special.

I remember Nils Lofgren on a trampoline, the laser light show, and of course AC/DC and The Who. I have been trying to find this concert online for ages. It was the best show ever!
