I was 11 years old and went to this gig with my whole family. I distinctly remember sitting on my old mans shoulders during for those about to rock. Towards the end of the gig fans, who did not have tickets to get in, broke down the surrounding fence around the oval and hundreds of them poured in. I remember seeing people with eskys and bottles running as fast as they could to get away from any security guards trying to stop them. It's a great memory of a great band.
By Mark Perry, Adelaide, SA:
This concert (the only time I have experienced the band outdoors) in 1988 was my first AC/DC gig at aged 18. I had only a week previously purchased the "Blow up your video" album so I was reasonably familiar with it. The opener was "Who made Who" with the multiple Angus's on the catwalk. As this was (and still remains) my favourite AC/DC song (and song), I was chuffed. I recall I won a bet too with friends. They were adamant either "Heatseeker" or "Hells Bells" would open. I remember feeling a little disconcerted when Brian did his first Bon song that night though. To be honest, I wasn't expecting it and I wasn't sure it was the right thing to do. Obviously, I would have been in the minority and today I feel different. (I'm a Johnson era fan rather than Bon by the way, AC/DC started for me in 1980.). I recall being glad at the time to hear several tracks from the then new album. If memory serves, Heatseeker, Meanstreak and Thats the way I wanna rock n roll made the cut. There was no blow up Rosie back then or flashing horns, just the cannons. All the other SFX came in '91. The show didn't need them though. (and I believe still doesn't.) I came away spellbound. The only downside was the idiot violence in the car park after the show.

I remember the riot at this concert too. It was the first big concert I ever went to and my brother and I lined up at about 8am to get in the front row. Got up the front and missed all the action of the riot but caught all the AC/DC action instead. Still one of the best concerts I've ever been to.
