Well to start of I have to compare this concert to my seeing
the Beatles years ago, I am 53 years old an the long awaited
chance compared to that, the excitement of seeing AC/DC was
so wonderful. I took my 16 year old son, and he likes Korn,
and had told me AC/DC could not be as good as Korn. Well he
changed his mind real quick. AC/DC rocked St Louis an we both
smoked an rocked, thank you AC/DC for bringing me an my son
closer together, and a long time dream of mine finally come
true a chance to finally see AC/DC, and they did not let down
it was awesome. I have to say in closing I have seen all the
great rockers from the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Doors, etc, and
I really mean AC/DC is the best and always will be till I die,
and when that time comes I hope I am listening to an AC/DC song!

You didn't need to spend a single night in the backseat of Scott
Chasin's Camaro the summer of 1980 listening to the Back in
Black album repeatedly to fully appreciate what we witnessed
last night at the Savvis Center.
But it sure would've helped.
Here's my report:
The guys I went with stayed close to the beer during Slash's
Snake Pit. I went down to check them out. My opinion is yes,
they were noisy as hell but also were better than the previous
reviews reported. Plus, they only played a half hour and unlike
other opening acts who stay on too long, these guys understood
why we were there. Mr Brownstone was the highlight.
The thunder from down under came on less than a half hour later.
The looked and sounded great. We were lucky enough to experience
it from the 2nd row. Seeing every odd face Angus makes really
increased the entertainment value. The band really interacted
a lot with the crowd.
Here are the other things they did right:
1) Played only one or two newer tunes, respecting the fact that
we came to hear the songs we grew up with.
2) Started the show promptly to cater to the employed members
of the audience.
3) Focused total attention on Brian and Angus. I respect the
other three members who know their roles and seem content to
stay in the background.
4) Never stopped moving. They did a great job not alienating
any part of the arena.
Truly an A+ show. Now, if my ears would only stop ringing.

WOW!! What a performance that one was. It was my very first
concert and I'm very proud to say that it was AC/DC. And man
it was loud. Took two days for my ears to clear up. Good to
hear Hell ain't a bad place and Bad Boy Boogie. That has to
be the best Angus strip song ever. And speaking of the band
they looked great. Angus and Brian running around like they
were still teenagers, Mal, Cliff and Phil rockin' the rhythm
section keeping in perfect sequence. I agree with the guy who
said that they have to be the tightest rhythm section going
today. Wish I could have heard Get It Hot cause it is one of
my favorites, but Safe In New York City was played well as it's
replacement. Loved the huge fireballs in Highway To Hell, the
cannon blasts in FTATR, the big Angus statue and of course all
the beautiful women flashing those boobies during The Jack.
Got a real kick out of that. Even took a picture of the monitor
whilst it was going on. Hope it turned out good. Every note
of every song was played with so much POWER and effort. It was
a real thrill to see these incredible men do their work. And
they were having a good time doing it. Brian ran up and down
the walk way on the floor slapping five to all the fans who
got to him. And Angus letting the fans know he wanted to hear
them yell loud. It was great. Can't wait to see them again soon
(hopefully in Memphis next year). Can't stop Rn'R and you will
never ever stop AC/DC.

ACDC struck Dallas again with a heavy metal vengeance! First
I will offer 2 complaints then tell you how great the show was.
Slash's Snakepit was a bit disappointing. they did play Mr Brownstone
form the GNR days, but the set was only 30 minutes and the sound
mix was one of the worst in I have ever heard.(it did improve
for ACDC)
My second complaint was the price gouging that took place. The
area was only 75% full. I think this happened for several reasons.
The Dallas concert market is simply over saturated with shows...and
the prices. 45 dollars was the average ticket price for the
show...and the T-shirts and other item were so over priced.
Not one shirt was under $35. Hats were $32. Sure guys your audience
has grown up and are not the starving teens of the 70's but
common that a bit too much. remember, your core audience has
always been very blue collar.
No on to the review, 2 solid hours of classic hits and some
surprises. Honestly they could play for 4 hours and not play
ever song we all would want to hear. But the classics scuh as
Dirty deeds, shook me all night long, for those about to rock,
back in black, shook me all night long, the jack , tnt, etc
they covered the biggest hits. They had a few surprises as well...shot
down in flames, shoot to thrill, bad boy boogie, get it hot,
hell ain't a bad place to be were all nice surprises when you
consider some of the other "hits" excluded....but
thanks for those. I was also glad that they replaced Satellite
Blue with the best new song in years, Safe in NY city, in the
set. Brian Johnson sounded much better than the last time they
came to Dallas. Angus has slowed a little...but just a little.
At 46 you'd expect that. I have been watching them since the
70's. He still moves like a very young man. The "climax"
of the show had a hydrolic machine lift Angus in the air in
the center of the arena during an extended on Let there be rock.
An Angus Statue from the new album was on stage, and had red
glowing eyes and would emit smoke out its mouth in certain songs.
Great job with 4 video screen. One dead center behind the drum
kit, that would spit in 2 at times.
What a great show! Energy, power, riffs, etc. Thank you guys
and please always come back to Dallas!!!!

This is gonna be short and sweet, as I'm not much of a writer.
I saw AC/DC at Reunion Arena in Dallas TX last night and all
I can say is WOW!!! This is the 6th time I have seen them in
concert and they are as great as ever. If they haven't come
to your city yet, and you don't have tickets, go out and buy
them NOW! (you won't regret it)
Last night AC/DC put on one of the best, hardest rocking concerts
I have ever seen.

Well I am only 15 years old and I have been always wanting to
see AC/DC in concert. Well on Thursday, September 7, I finally
got a chance to, I thought that they put on a spectacular show.
Angus is one of the most wildest guys that I have ever seen.
I am sort of disappointed that they didn't perform who made
who, but otherwise I thought they were excellent.
-
Drew S.
This was my tenth time seeing AC/DC, and as usual the did not
disappoint. It was classic after classic. All the AC/DC elements
were there. The Angus strip, the Hells Bell, and the cannons
for FTATRWSY. I was, however, surprised to hear Meltdown, and
very surprised to see Angus playing slide guitar. Brian looked
like he was having a ball all night. Slapping hands with fans
and running around the stage like it was the first show of the
tour.
I hope AC/DC comes back after they tour Europe.

One Hell of a Concert!! ACDC Kicked Ass in Dallas. If I could
have gotten off work on the 8th, I would have driven 4 1/2 hours
to see them again in Houston at the Compaq Center. I think Angus
was born with a guitar in his hands. Where does this guy get
so much energy? Angus and Brian, sure know how to work a crowd.
The band was really in touch with the fans.
We stood the entire concert except when Slash's SnakePit was
performing. They sucked bad!! We would have rather sat there
and listened to the pre-concert music on tape and watched all
of the pretty ladies trying to find their seats than to have
been tortured by Slash's Snakepit.
Great show ACDC, with the best stage setup I've ever seen. Great
special effects from the lights and the full statue of Angus
in his school boy outfit that blew smoke from his nostrils.
We loved it when angus came out in the middle of the arena and
was elevated about 20 feet off the floor on a glass with him
doing a great solo. On their song "for those about to rock,
we salute you" I was expecting the cannons to go off but
they still scared the shit out of me when they firs went off.
I loved it. The Stripper was nice as well.
Brian's smokey voice is a trade mark but neither Brian or Angus
could have done their stuff with out the great performance from
Malcolm, Cliff and Phil. Thanks guys for a super great show!!

This show rocked! I have waited to see them since the "For
those about to Rock" tour, and they did not let me down.
Brian still belts out vocals as he did years ago. Angus is still
the king! Anyone reading this that has a chance to buy a ticket
for a show, I have advice; buy it!!! As you have read in other
reviews, the band hit every one of the songs that you would
expect. The music is very loud with a drive that pounds your
chest. The stage show and pyros keep the adrenaline rushing.
I have been to a lot of shows, and I can tell you that they
had the crowd in the palm of their hand from song 1. You can
read other reviews for the playlist, etc. I am just here to
tell you that if you have never seen this band, you owe it to
yourself to check this one out. And by the way, when the cannons
roll out for "For those about to rock", well, prepare
yourself for an unforgettable experience! AC/DC STILL RULES!!!!!

Last Night, Oh what a night. I'll start from the beginning.
Got in the compaq center to see Slash. Slash can still play
a mean guitar. But his show wasn't what I expected. Only 1 tune
(Mr. Brownstone) was I able to enjoy. Slash may want to consider
a new lineup. Take your time getting beer and t shirts as his
show sucked!!!!Now the big one. While walking around the compaq
center people watching, I wasn't at all surprised to see the
walks of life that I seen. 4 year old children with there parents,
Teenagers with there parents, and hey look there's that 50 year
old lawyer dude who just got off work and still sporting his
suit. Yes folks AC/DC is a group for everyone! The lights dropped
and a glimpse of one of the band members sent the crowd into
a roar. Bam! Shook me all night long came roaring from the huge
Marshall stacks. And that's what they did, Shook us all night
long. 5 45 year + old men playing like 20 year olds. It was
great! Then it was time for a Stiff Upper Lip. Sounded great.
Excellent live song. Old school did someone say. Shot Down In
Flames, Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be, Let There Be Rock (Damned
sure was plenty of that) Whole lotta Rosie, T.N.T. The new ones,
Meltdown (kicked major ass) I Feel Safe In New York City Back
In Black, Hells Bells, Shoot to Thrill, Highway To Hell, Hard
As A Rock. I hope I didn't leave out any tunes. And the traditional
end: For Those About To Rock! I must say that these young at
heart men are still the best live show I have ever seen. Many
times. If anyone has a lick of sense they wont miss there opportunity
to see these Veteran Rockers. Hall of Fame watch out ,here comes
AC/DC. One last thing, Angus is sporting his American Flag Boxers.
-
Ron Roth
This was my third time to see the band. The last was 1996 in
San Antonio. I was a little worried about their performance,
because let's face it, there old! They were good in 1996, but
I have to say that they were "great" in Houston. Everybody
was fit, trim, no mistakes, in to the music and the concert.
I was very impressed. These guys rocked the Compaq Center. I
stood up the entire two hours. Keep in mind, I'm 49 years old.
I've been listening to AC/DC for over twenty years. I love to
see "ole" guys rocking. It just tells me I can't give
up. I'll come see these guys if their still rocking in my 60's!
Keep up the good work - we love you.

The boys came into Houston on Sept. 8 and put on one heck of
a show to, what seemed to be, a capacity crowd. Before this
year, the last time I attended a live show from Angus and the
gang was during the Flick of the Switch tour back in 83, so
I was overdue for a dosage of live AC/DC.
From the first notes of the opener, YSMANL, to the last notes
of the cannon blasting For Those About to Rock, AC/DC kept the
Houston crowd on its collective feet. Thanks to the many reviews
I have seen, I knew what to expect beforehand in the way of
stage set-up, special effects, and song list. One big surprise,
however, was the substitution of "Meltdown" for "Satellite
Blues", which I had no problems with ("Meltdown"
happens to be my favorite SUP tune). It was great to hear the
many Bon Scott era tunes such as "Hell Ain't a Bad Place
To Be", "Bad Boy Boogie", "Highway to Hell",
etc.
Brian, Angus, Malcolm, Cliff, and Phil each displayed superb
professional showmanship. I was astounded at how each of the
band members seemed to genuinely enjoy playing in front of the
Houston crowd. Contrary to other reports of AC/DC being loud,
I did not think they were any louder than other live rock/metal
bands. AC/DC's music was, however, tighter and more defined
than what I remember of other rock/metal bands, and certainly
so for the case of the opener Slash's Snakepit. The performance
of Slash's Snakepit was not very good.. I'll leave it at that.
Thanks to the lads from Australia for such a great show. Houston
salutes you AC/DC!
-
Raul Garza
FOR ANGUS AND THE BAND... MONTERREY SALUTE YOU.
The first time I said my friends I'm thinking about goin' to
see AC/DC at Houston, most of them call me crazy... well 4 days
after the "madness" I'm here writing this review.
My name is Raul Garza, I live at Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico
and I was one of the thousands of witness to see one of the
greatest bands over the face of the earth on September 8 at
the Compaq Center at Houston, TX.
It was enough to see the lights go out, and the skinny figure
of Angus hit the stage for the thousands in attendance to step
up and start to rock!
The first notes of "Shook me.." was the beginning
of my BEST concert ever in my whole life... the un-exhausted
rhythm of legs and head of Angus, the scratching-glass-wripped
voice of Brian as also the nice tempo of Phil on drums, not
forgetting the "un-noticed" job of the older Young
Brother and bassist Cliff, just was too much for this old-rocker
to take...
The continuous "trailer of hits" keep on loading the
Center..."Thunderstuck", "The Jack", "Hells
Bells", "Stiff upper lip", "Feel fine in
New York city" was part of the "first" part of
the show... at this moment I was just amazed on the control
and energy that Angus put on his playing, but the best was yet
to come...
On a second part full of "Classics" beginning with
"Back in black" the rhythm of the show were just straight
up!!!
"Highway to hell", "Whole lotta Rosie",
"Let there be rock" pound like a enormous sting of
energy in all the crowd, and for give to the show a "classic"
ending, the band played "For those about to rock"...
after an hour and fifty minutes of good-old riffs, I was dreaming...
the show maybe was over, but the electricity and the power of
that show will be something that really will be kick me every
time I hear an AC-DC song...
And for those who still are undecided of going to see these
guys, here's a little note for U... I spent over 400 bucks just
to see the show!!! Don't think and move your butt to get that
ticket!!! And for those about to rock... I salute them!
-
Susan
I have seen AC/DC four times before but I have to say that this
concert was absolutely the best....as a matter of fact it is
now at the top of the list of all the concerts I have seen!!
Angus is the MAN. The band rocked big time. The crowd ranged
from 12 year olds to 60+ year olds. What other band can pull
in that wide range of people? No one.......because AC/DC RULES!!!!!!!
Can't wait to see them again, hopefully in the very near future.
Rock on guys.....you are THE GREATEST!!!! :O)

Slash and crew deserve no comment, but we will give one anyway.
The words that come to mind are muddy, sloppy, uninspired, and
boring. Other than that, they were great. The singer was foul
and disgusting for reasons we'd rather not get into for fear
of encouraging him further. Slash seemed bored, which was the
only thing he and the crowd shared.
AC/DC: Possible news? They played "Meltdown," which
I haven't seen mentioned in any other reviews. Is this the first
time it's been in the set.
Review: They rocked! They played really well. Hey, it's an AC/DC
show.
-
K SCOTT
The only other concert that was better was the first time I
seen AC/DC (Flick of the Switch-83). The second row seats were
great. Angus and Brian were only ten feet away at times, which
made for some great pics. AC/DC is "The Worlds Most Electrifying
Rock n Roll Band"!!! We actually got our picture on the
big screen!! Angus was unbelievable despite being 45 now. I
guess his last name means he will always be YOUNG!! The new
songs sounded great live. This was the fifth time and hopefully
not the last seeing them. The only thing I did not like was
"For Those About To Rock" because you knew the show
was over. Angus is the BEST SHOWMAN in rock n roll and AC/DC
the BEST ROCK N ROLL BAND in the world as we breath!!!!!
-
Stephanie
This was me & my husband's first AC/DC concert. We drove
5.5 hours, had to take the scenic route from Birmingham, AL
because a fuel tanker overturned on the interstate, but once
we got to the concert and sat patiently thru Slash's Snakepit,
we were good to go!!! I took some pictures, but we ordered our
tickets too late to get great seats and pictures didn't come
out great. I could see the band so I am happy!! Although they
played about 5 songs I wasn't familiar with, they were awesome!!!
They played 3 songs from the new album and I noticed the audience
kinda got quiet during those songs, it seems that most of those
times that only me and the guy with a beer in each hand trying
to have a conversation with me were the only ones up and screaming.
I loved the show, but I was disappointed with the audience;
I wondered why some of the people were even there, they sat
resting their chins on their hands for the majority of the evening.
Hell, even if I didn't know the songs I still was hyped to be
there!! All said, I got my money's worth and I pray that the
guys do another tour so my husband can get a T-shirt, I got
mine!!! It will remind me of the rockingest show I've seen in
a long time!!!!
-
Jimbo
After seeing the band in Atlanta there was NO way I was NOT
going to go see the boys again!!! So off to BILOXI MS. we went...
and once again the band PROVED once and for all that THEY are
the BEST Rock and Roll band there is!!!!!! One surprise in the
set was the inclusion of MELTDOWN off of s.u.l. which sounded
great, in fact the show sounded LOUD and GREAT!!!!!! Angus seemed
in good spirits as he toyed with a short solo before NOISE POLLUTION.
and Brian was having a grand ol'time slapping hands on the ramp.
AND may I also add the fans, the Coliseum and the security in
Biloxi was GREAT!!!! salute!!! FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Karen
The concert was "hellacious" in Biloxi! They came
out and assaulted us with rock for 2 hours! I was soaking wet
from dancing! There was not one slow song, you didn't even get
time to catch your breath. They played songs off the new album
and they all were good. What an elaborate stage! We were in
the second row, seats 1 and 2 from the center and the center
was a catwalk that went right by our seats!!!!!!!! So Brian
and Angus (lead guitar) went up and down this thing all night.
Got to hold hands with Brian twice while he was singing. He
slapped and high fived up and down the catwalk. Angus has the
damn fasted hands on a guitar I've seen live since Jimmy Page
was playing with Led Zep! The finale had 6, count them SIX CANNONS!!!!!!!!!
For those about to rock, we sallluuuute you! FIRE! BOOOOOOOOM!
It was relentless. They had so many fire pots going off during
Hells Bells and Highway to Hell I thought I was in hell! Three
big video screens going, a 40' statute of Angus that, when appropriate,
grew horns and breathed fire. Wild, just freaking wild. You
forget all those kick ass party rocking songs they do. The crowd
was one screaming entity. Rocked us to the bone.
-
Ziggy
First of all, I have only 3 words to describe the opening act---Slash's
Snakepit Sucks! I was only able to sit through their set because
I knew what was about to hit me next. For those of you who do
not know what I am talking about, just keep reading. If you
want 2 solid hours of intense, high-voltage, ground shaking,
ear-splitting, kick-ass rock n' roll, then AC/DC is the concert
you must not miss! These guys really have a good time on stage
and believe me, the way Angus and Brian "play" the
crowd, you can't help but to have a good time with them. Meltdown
was played instead of Satellite Blues---a change from previous
shows. The fire balls on "Highway To Hell" were spectacular!!!
I guess my only complaint is that during "The Jack",
there was no female participation on the video screens as in
other shows (if you know what I mean). What's up with that Biloxi?????
In any case, everyone else is right when they say that AC/DC
only gets better with time. I have been a huge fan ever since
their first album. 26 years and countless albums later, they
still know how to crank out great kick-ass rock n' roll. LONG
LIVE AC/DC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
