Boston, MA 8 Aug. 2000
- Mike Giorgi
Wow! This was the 62nd time I have seen AC/DC (I'm 40) and always
I am never disappointed. From the first time I saw Angus and the
boys in SF at the Old Waldorf in 1977 until now they are the best
show and greatest natural high I have ever experienced. Playing
4 songs off of "Let there be rock" was awesome! They
really connected with the longtime AC/DC fan with their selection
of songs. You totally forget the age of the Youngs, Brian, Cliff
and Phil. "Shoot to Thrill" and "Dirty Deeds"
are such great concert songs and I was really impressed with "Satellite
Blues" live. I flew in from Denver since they aren't playing
here until the second leg of their US tour next summer. I will
be flying to see them in Oakland and San Jose and just pray it
is not another 5 years before they tour again. They keep me young.
- Ed Rodowicz
BOSTON MASS - Fleet Center (where the Bruins play) Aug 8, 2000
WOW - what a night!!! We just got back (a little after 2 AM) and
wow, what an unbelievable night!!! Needless to say I am still
wired up so I am writing this now before I forget anything instead
of going to bed!!! This was about the 10th time I have seen AC/DC,
the first time being back in the 70's when UFO opened for them
at the Palace in Albany, NY. That was very memorable as Bon Scott
was the lead singer and it was the next to last show ever for
him, as unfortunately he was found dead in his car in London less
than a month later....
That show was fantastic and so has every show that I have attended
since, and tonight was no exception!!! - they where awesome -
they where as good as ever! I will talk about the opening group
later (DON'T waste your time going in for them!!!!). The Fleet
Center (aka new Boston Garden) was sold out (unlike other arenas
on the tour from what I have hear on this site, and it was rocking!!!
The stage was awesome!!! It was somewhat similar to the last tour
in that there was giant scafolding on both sides that went 4-5
stories high. But despite stairs going right from the stage up
to the top of the speakers and then up both sides, no member of
the group ever went up!!! There where light guys on both sides
with spotlight, but it looked awesome!!! Behind the drum set there
was a 30+ foot statue of Angus - it was awesome (more later).
And a video screen that 'moved'. There is also a walkway from
the center of the stage that goes out about 40 rows!!! Brian went
down it at least a dozen times and Angus about 4 or 5. Brian routinely
shook hands with audience members along the way. The song set
was like the two I have seen posted on this site from the Michigan
shows, but with a couple songs moved - this list is 100% accurate
as I took my pen and pencil in with me!!! Angus came out with
a cap on, but before the first chord of the first song it was
gone!!! He of course had his schoolboy outfit with shorts. Everybody
was in black as well of course!!! Phil has SONOR drums and had
glasses on (don't remember that from last time). Well here it
goes song by song with what happened!!!
#1 You shook me all night long - A video screen in the center
- at the end of the song it splits in 2 to reveal the 30+ foot
Angus. The video screen would then move behind the statue and
move together on the right side of the stage after the second
song.
#2. Still Upper Lip - After this song there was a slight delay
for technical problems and Brian said "We'll get it
fixed for you"
#3 Shot Down in Flames
#4 Thunderstruck
#5 Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be - this if the 1st song that the
eyes (white) and horns (red) on the giant statue light up!)
#6 Hard as a Rock - the highlight of this song was the video screen
in the back that showed some 'porn'!!! - It started with monkeys
having sex, then some 'cute' animated porn and more animals having
sex!!! The crown REALLY enjoyed it! At other times it showed the
group playing!
#7 Shoot to Thrill
#8 Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution
#9 Get It Hot - the video screen showed a neat AC/DC sign with
flames!
#10 Bad Boy Boogie - this is where Angus 'moons' the crowd!, well
sort off! First the jacket comes off, then the tie, then the shirt,
and finally he's up at the drum set and his shorts come down,
but he is wearing American flag underwear!!! No skin as in previous
tours!
#11 Hells Bells - Brian comes down the walkway and a giant bell
is lowered which has a rope from it and he jumps on it and swings
back an forth a few times - similar to the previous tour!
#12 The Jack (this is a switch from previous shows) - Normally
I don't like this song, but I and the crowd REALLY enjoyed it
tonight!!! During the song they put people in the audience on
the video screens and several females took the tops off and where
even rubbing their breast for the cameras! Brian said 'Nice Tits
in Boston'!!! And I would agree with him!!! I hope females are
as friendly on the rest of the tour!!!
#13 Satellite Blues
#14 Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
#15 Back in Black - And they had Back in Black on the video screen!
#16 Highway to Hell
#17 Whole Lotta Rosie - on the video screens they had pictures
of the giant inflatable doll that they used on the last tour!!!
#18 Let There be Rock - End of regular set. The break before the
encore was VERY short
#19 TNT - Angus went down to the end of the walkway and they had
a circle that rose about 15-20 feet and he played on his back/side
as he went around - the crowd was going nuts!!!
#20 For Those About to Rock - 6 cannons arose above the speakers
and the went off on a regular basis!!! What an end to a fabulous
energetic show!!! They come on at 8:35 and we where in the bathroom
at 10:30, so I would estimate they played about 1:50. A little
short, but every minute was exciting and there was a very short
break before the encore!
The show was over, but our fun was just to began! We met Angus
and Malcolm and got out tickets autographed!!! We then wished
them well on their journey to Toronto as they where going to travel
all night. Only Angus and Malcolm got on the 2000 Prevost, not
sure what happened to the rest of the band!!!
Just behind us was Nikki Sixx (Mötley Crüe) as the are
playing in Mansfield the next night, was sitting right behind
us. Also next to him was Dave Mustaine of Megadeth as they are
opening for the Crue. Nikki left before the end of the regular
set, and Dave left before the end of the show.
Malcolm, as usual, never moved more than a foot from left to right
or front to back!!! On the other side, Cliff never moved more
than a foot from right to left, but did move a couple feet from
back to front!!! The exception was that both Malcolm and Cliff
did come up the mikes during Back and Black and TNT - that's it!
Well that's all I can thing of - an awesome show!!!
A few notes on Slashes Snakepit - A VERY BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. I
read the other reviews, but we figured we would go in as it couldn't
be that BAD - But it was, or even WORSE. Slash looked the same
with his hair and hat and he had a white and black Zig Zag joint
T-shirt and dark brown leathers. The leas singer had no shirt,
and lavender pants half falling off and 'fake' dreadlocks almost
to his but - his vocals where HORRIBLE!!! The lead guitarist had
alternating blond an black hair and the side of his nice shiny
blue guitar said SUCK ME. The Bass player had a 'Bob Marley' guitar.
The first 5 songs where Snakepit songs then for the 6th song Slash
came to the center of the stage to the mike to introduce Mr. Brownstone
which was the only worthwhile song. They played one more song
before leaving. They played about 35 minutes. With the talent
of Slash, we expected A LOT MORE!!! Maybe if the vocals weren't
so bad..... Anyway, the turnover was VERY QUICK and the real concert
started!
AC/DC RULES!!!
- Paul
WOW!! Great show at the Fleet Center last night. Angus and Co.
were in full form, better than ever. Energetic older crowd, at
times were louder than the band. Ear damage??!! Most definitely!
Same setlist as previous shows. Highlights were "Thunderstruck,"
"Shoot to Thrill" "Bad Boy Boogie" "Satellite
Blues," "Let there be Rock," and of course "FTATR."
Only gripe is that they aren't playing more songs off of Stiff
Upper Lip, which is Best AC/DC studio album since "Fly on
the Wall." Nikki Sixx was watching from soundboard w/ wife
as the CRUE are playing 8/9 in MA.
Hopefully this won't be the last tour!
- Brian
Wow! I've been to the four previous AC/DC shows in Boston and
this one blew them away. The boys were stronger than ever and
the sell out crowd was the best I've ever been part of. One minor
hardware glitch early that delayed the show for a minute, but
Brian kept it entertaining during the brief silence. My neck hurts,
ears are ringing, and I've never been happier. A note to the parking
garage, putting up a sign asking people to "refrain from
honking your horn", is not a good idea after an AC/DC concert.
- Tracy Lincks
The only word I can describe last nights show with is "breathtaking"!
I expected for them to sound very rusty and slow paced. NOT! They
had as much energy, if not more than when I saw them 15 years
ago in Philadelphia. The sound and overall performance was incredible.
I have to say this was one of the best concerts I have ever attended.
I loved the 30ft statue of Angus - that was great and different.
Unfortunately I cannot say much for SLASH - they did not impress
me at all. I commend ACDC for staying cool and remaining great
performers! I just hope I have that much energy when I reach my
40's!
- Mark L.
In the year 2000, AC/DC still can Rock like no other band. We
were 2 guys from N.Y. who decided to go on a road trip to see
the boys. We have been huge fans since the late 70's, this was
my 21st show. We got lucky and had excellent seats, real close.
The crowd was very into it and the band knew it. The song list
was as advertised, and sounded great, I think they get better
as they get older!! 'Bad Boy Boogie' was superb!! I think Angus
is getting very wise, he paces himself now, he is still Angus
, with his super fire speed fingers, but at a pace that carries
him through the show. It was an evening I will not forget.. Can
not wait till the Wilkes-Barre show as well as N.J. AND N.Y. I
would not miss them for the world...AC/DC THE GREATEST ROCK &ROLL
BAND EVER..!!!!!!!!!!

Toronto, ONT 10 Aug. 2000
- JD
I saw the first of two shows AC/DC performed in Toronto. The show
was fantastic, probably one of the best shows of the 7 AC/DC concerts
I have seen, every Toronto show since '85's Fly On The Wall. They
sounded great, maybe because the Air Canada Center venue was better
than the Skydome for the previous two shows. A huge surprise opening
with You Shook Me...but a great start. I like the fact they only
did Stiff Upper Lip and Satellite Blues from the new cd, those
are the only songs I wanted to hear, although apparently they
played Safe In NY City the second night in Toronto. The stage
show was great, they have really come a long way over the years
in giving you a visually exciting show as well as incredible music.
The Angus statue was great, I really liked the walkway out to
the crowd, it gave Brian and Angus a chance to get a closer, and
slap hands with the crowd. The flames for Highway to Hell were
great too, and the bell and cannons are consistently a high point.
I love the fact that at 53 and 41 years old it did not seem like
Brian and Angus had any less energy than the first time I saw
them.
The only problem I had was with the set list. The played 20 songs
which is great, but they always split the Bon and Brian songs
evenly. I know there are A LOT of Bon fans, myself being one of
them, but I think its time to realize Bon sung on 6 studio albums
and Brian has sung on 9 albums and I think there are some Brian
songs that I can't believe they don't do live. Songs like Who
Made Who, Moneytalks and especially Let's Get It Up. I don't know
about the rest of North America but I remember Lets Get It Up
being huge in Toronto. For Those about to Rock is AC/DC's only
No#1 album and they only play the title track. Brian sung 10 of
his tunes and half were from Back in Black. I think they should
drop Get It Hot, Hell ain't a Bad Place To Be and Bad Boy Boogie,
which are good songs but because they have so much material to
choose from should be left off for others. I would rather hear
Jailbreak than Get It Hot from the Bon stuff anyway. Another thing,
I know these albums did not do very well sales wise but they don't
do any songs from Flick of the Switch, Fly on the Wall, or Blow
up your Video. Its obvious they are trying to please both the
Bon and the Brian fans but Brian has been with the band 20 years
now, its time they do mostly his stuff maybe 11-9 split of a 20
song concert.
- Jelly
What a day ... well ... the day began @ around 12 for me, I woke
up and went to the Much Music station where the ACDC boys were
going to show up at 3pm. I got in line around 2 pm, got my wristband
:) and finally at around 2:45 they let us inside. At around 3:10
Brian walks in, and he is talking to us like we were pals for
20 years. Angus walked in on the other side, so I couldn't salute
the young man. I looked around and don't see Malcolm, Cliff or
Phil. What a shame ACDC is made of 5 people, not just 2. MuchMusic
should have said : Angus and Brian from AC/DC. Oh well ... During
the commercial break Angus and Brian were signing our stuff like
crazy. When the interview was over they just took all of us out
and put the 2 in a limo and they left. We didn't have a chance
to say goodbye.
Slash showed up after that, we didn't stick until he was finished
because he is not worth it. HE BELONGS WITH GNR NOT SOLO. Like
I saw in a couple of hours, SLASH doesn't belong in the Snakepit.
If I was Slash... I would get rid of that Axl rose wannabe. I
got bored of the Snakepit and went to check out some T-shirts.
The prices are like for gold .. $40 a shirt. $50 a cheap soccer
Jersey. $40 a tanktop, $55 a really nice shirt with a satellite
on. I got that one because it's worth every penny from it. But
those prices... damn.. By the time I got back, they were doing
the soundcheck ... the sound of that was better then that of Snakepit.
At around 8:40 guess who shows up ??? They sounded like always
... GREAT.. The setlist was the same like the one posted by Leigh
from Grand Rapids. Now here are some comments. The Toronto chicks
sucked big time. During the Jack .. they were showing them on
the screen but only one realized that she should take her top
off, the other ones were just smiling at the camera. STOOPID !!..
Toronto chicks better wake up tomorrow. Now on the setlist : They
should start with Stiff upper Lip and YSMANL somewhere at the
end. Also it would have been nice to see : House of Jazz (which
is the best from SUL), Hail Caesar and Moneytalks instead of Shot
Down In Flames, Hell ain't a bad place to be and Get it hot. But
as always you can't have all the songs that you want cause that
would meant a 5 hour concert. I'm gonna see the show tomorrow
and report on that one too. PS. Angus didn't show his gluterus
tonight ... just the Canadian flag undies...
- Lawrence
Just got home from the show and it was amazing. I had only seem
the guys live on video, and my first show was all I expected.
Even my buddy who I brought along thought it was a great show.
Highway to Hell was definitely a highlight of the show. If you
haven't been to a show, take my word and go. The stage was great
as usual, but was quite similar to the one from the last tour.
Would have been nice to have seen something different, but hey,
why mess with perfection? Like a lot of the previous fan reviews,
my only complaint is that they left out a lot of the songs I would
have loved to have heard. Moneytalks and Who Made Who seem like
two songs that would sound great live. Other than that, I'd be
nuts to complain about anything else. I'm headed to tomorrow's
show and I'm as pumped as I can get.

Toronto, ONT 11 Aug. 2000
- sherry
excellent stage, excellent women, excellent sound, boys are looking
fabulous highlights of the show were Bad Boy Boogie, Hard as a
Rock and the first encore was "TNT". The first concert
I've been too in Toronto out of many where the entire crowd stood
for the whole show. Even the Stone didn't do that. Toronto LOVES
AC/DC
- Jason Rector
The chants of "Angus, Angus, Angus" and "AC/DC,
AC/DC, AC/DC" started as soon as Slash and his thrown together
band got off the stage (Thank God!!) The house lights went out
at 8:45pm and on came a contest winner from 97.7 (a local rock
radio station) to introduce the band to the stage.
Just like the previous shows the band came onto the stage, and
Angus saluted the crowd, lost the cap and that was the beginning
of the frenzy.
Loud, Loud, Loud, but most of all it was musicianship at it's
best. Excellent rhythm from the AC/DC Engine of Malcolm, Cliff,
and Phil.. Angus and Malcolm played off each other brilliantly.
Brian was great, although the vocals did seem a bit strained,
but still sounded awesome. I guess the rockin' Toronto crowd had
a lot to do with that.
The set list was the same as previous shows FOR THE FIRST NIGHT
AT LEAST. Toronto fans know a great rock band and when they come
to town they usually make the band spend more than one night.
Was also lucky enough to see the band the second night of two
consecutive sold-out shows (36, 000 total rockers for the 2 nights).
Nice change was to see another song from "Stiff Upper Lip"
added. ARE YOU READY? IT WAS..... "Safe in New York City".
Sounded great. No extra stage props, but some fancy lighting was
used. I guess the unfortunate part is that the band omitted "Get
It Hot" from the set instead of just adding SINYC. Personally
thought "Get It Hot" was one of the strongest songs
from the first night.
Personal favorites from the shows were "Stiff Upper Lip,
Satellite Blues (this song has got to become a staple song in
there set for future tours), Get It Hot, Bad Boy Boogie, Whole
Lotta Rosie, and Let There Be Rock. Would have loved to hear "Live
Wire", but hopefully next time.
If you have not got tickets to see AC/DC in your city, buy them
at any cost. Even if that means from scalpers. I did for the first
show (cost a lot for 2 tickets) and got to see the band up close
and personal. AC/DC (WE SALUTE YOU).
- Jelly
I arrived at the show just 2 minutes before the boys got on stage,
and was happy to miss Slash :). The setlist had one little change.
#9 Get it hot had to go, the new song was : Safe in New York City.
During that song the video screen showed a time lapse movie of
the streets from New York... pretty cool.. the other cool part
is that the Toronto chicks saw my review from yesterday, and about
5 or 6 of them took their moneymakers out :). They were quite
in front and Brian got took a break, enjoying the view for about
5 seconds :). One of them had AC written on one breast DC on the
other one and the / in the middle... pretty cool... The best song
today, like yesterday was For those about to rock, the final part
is sooo cool... a must see if you have floor seats :)
- Lawrence
Set list change: I know I already got my two cents worth after
yesterday's show, but I just had to update everyone about a set
list change during the second show in Toronto. Instead of playing
Get It Hot, the band played Safe in New York City. It sounded
great and the crowd was even more wild for this show than yesterday's.
Guess once you taste something you like, you enjoy it even more
the next time.

Ottawa, ONT 12 Aug. 2000
- Michael Delli Colli
To use an overused term, what a 'KICK ASS' concert!!! Like most
other people, my friends and I had been waiting a long and grueling
4 years to see the boys live again and it was well worth the wait.
The last time we saw them in Montreal, we were too young to think
about making a road trip to see them again, but things were different
this time around. We made our first AC/DC road trip, to Ottawa,
and what a trip it was! It's always an adrenaline rush to look
at the stage before hand and wonder what Angus is going to do.
All I know is that the first thing we saw is the Bell hanging
over the catwalk and that was enough to make us go nuts! The crowd
pleasing You Shook Me is a great choice to kick off a concert
because it's arguably their most popular song. The statue of Angus
was absolutely awesome!
For us, the best part of it was during Highway when it was snorting
out air and when it's eyes turned all red. What a chilling moment.
Speaking about chilling moments, hearing 'Bad Boy Boogie' was
unbelievable! My friends and I just started hi-fiving because
we just couldn't believe our ears! The new songs sounded fresh
and alive and the classic ones sounded better than ever. On a
personal note, the highlight of the night was hearing Hells Bells.
That one always manages to send cold chills up my back. Weirdest
part of the night? Seeing people leave before the encore. If you
don't stay for FTATR then why bother coming?
Oh yeah, another small highlight...MEETING ANGUS AND PHIL AFTER
THE SHOW!!! HOLY COW! Phil is super friendly and Angus, well,
what can you say. He's Angus! He signed the cover of my program
and my ticket and my friends and me shook his hand and just simply
told him what an honor it was to meet him. Until we meet again
in Montreal, long live the Gods of Rock!
- Jim From England
Two die hard AC/DC fans from England have just spent two weeks
touring around Canada making sure that our stops along the "Highway
To Hell" conveniently coincided with those of AC/DC in Toronto,
Ottawa and Montreal.
I must single out the Ottawa show as it was truly the most incredible
performance I have ever seen the band give. The sound quality
was absolutely unbelievable, crystal clear and thunderously loud
in equal measure! The legendary rhythm section of Mal, Cliff and
Phil is tighter than ever, Angus did his usual thing, but I must
take this opportunity to give extra credit to the performance
of Beano. He charged around the stage with the energy and enthusiasm
of a man half his age and his easy going rapport and good humoured
banter with the crowd was something you very rarely see in a frontman
these days. His voice really was in great condition despite the
rumours that have been circulating in the press over the last
couple of years that he had a throat problem and was in need of
an operation!
I was a little bit surprised (and highly delighted) by how enthusiastic
the Canadian crowds were, the atmosphere at the Corel Centre (how
far out of the City Centre?!) before, during and after the show
was absolutely electric and this seemed to only inspire the band
to greater heights! The mixture of young and older fans together
with whole families in attendance was something you don't usually
see over here in Britain.
Can't really argue with the set list, stand out tracks were "Hell
Ain't A Bad Place To Be", "Satellite Blues" (best
track on the new album), "Dirty Deeds", "Hells
Bells", "Back In Black" (which worked even better
towards the end of the set list) and of course "For Those
About To Rock...". At the moment when the rest of the band
kicked back in after the strip and guitar solo in "Bad Boy
Boogie" I swear I could feel the earth tremor!
I was a little bit disappointed that nothing from my favourite
Bon Scott era album "Powerage" was included, "Riff
Raff" and/or "Gone Shootin'" would have gone down
a treat.
As a live unit AC/DC are still at the very height of their powers
but one wonders just how much longer they can maintain this level
of performance. Rock and roll certainly doesn't get any better
than this!
- Jay
AC/DC of course kicked ass last night, and this being my first
concert on my 19th Birthday made it the best 24 hours of my natural
born life. Too many things made this night amazing and all reviews
are accurate. I believe I witnessed Safe In New York City's live
birth as they were wild to it, with images of NY (Streets, subways,
sidewalks) on the jumbo screens. It replaced GET IT HOT. It was
intense! The sound was perfect especially Phil's Monster beats
and despite bad reviews in previous concert's, Brian's voice was
on fire. The only other change in the line up was STIFF UPPER
LIP, played third. HIGHWAY TO HELL was my favorite as the stage
was covered in flames and the COREL CENTER as bright as if the
house lights were on. HARD AS A ROCK was the funniest, with the
cartoon porn that looked like a cross between the 7 dwarfs getting
laid and the best of the DISCOVERY CHANNELS animal sex marathon.
Major Highlight being my privilege to announce that AC/DC is going
to ROCK live, on Ottawa's best Rock station CHEZ 106.1, and I
didn't Lie. The show was nothing short of A GIANT DOSE OF ROCK
'N' ROLL. Breast's were shown numerous times as the crowd chanted
SHE'S GOT THE JACK at girls on the jumbo screens, very funny.
Nothing else new from last night's concert that wasn't in others.
Enjoy the concert and don't get too blitz before, because trouble
could ensue.
