Those bad boys of rock are back! To a packed house they got the place rocking from the first cord of "You shook me all night long" to the final cord of "Those who are about to rock". The band certainly saluted Grand Rapids with an excellent show.

I would like to comment on the Set List: "I am extremely disappointed, coz there are only two songs from the new album. I expected MELTDOWN , SAFE IN NYC, GIVE IT UP too. YSMANL is a bad opener. I hope the will change and get some more old stuff like, GONE SHOOTIN` or WHAT'S NEXT TO THE MOON.
  • Emilio Barco
My neck hurts from the head-banging and my ears are still ringing. What a way to kick off a tour. Booming out the classics such as "let there be rock", "dirty deeds done done cheap", and "hells bells" Cranking out some newer tunes as well. Seeing them again was like meeting an old friend and partying-out viciously. Whew!!! Only the occasional minor sound problems (feedback) really marred the concert. But to me these boys can do no wrong. Great f'ing concert, great f'ing band!!! All Hail AC/DC!!!
  • Tyson Burt
Great show! Wished they would've played more from the Bon era, but they certainly rocked the house the way only AC/DC can!!
  • David
A Great Set List, YSMANL was a great surprise, maybe should have had more songs from the Stiff Upper Lip Album, but it was still an excellent list, AC/DC is the only band I know that can rock a packed house and have everyone leave happy without playing their biggest selling single, which is "Money Talks." great job lads
  • Curtis Meyer
Great show! I would have picked a better opener than the worn out YSMANL but it still rocked. After the elaborate intro of the ball breaker tour and the THUNDER intro from TRE tour I was surprised to see them just come out and start playing, but in a way that was cool too. Brian did more talking between songs than I have ever heard, but us poor saps in the back couldn't make out a word. Still an A+ show.

I've been going to rock concerts since 1972, I've seen them all, but this show was the best I ever saw. I took my 16 year old son, who is also a huge AC/DC fan, and sat on the main floor. From the time the band came on stage until the final cannon went off, it was pure, hard, pounding rock & roll. Every song, every chord, just made your heart pound. I waited a long time to see them (I could never get tickets) but this night was worth the wait. I've always told my son, your never to old for rock & roll, Angus and the guys proved it that night. Thanks for a great show!!
  • Ron Winkelman
Well well well... My long awaited rendezvous with the band finally came with excitement and glee. They were back (in black) at the Palace of Auburn Hills and everyone there seemed as excited as I was. Almost nervous (shakedown). We were among the lucky ones with reserved suite tickets in hand and seats that were perfect for viewing. Slash and Snake Pit opened the show as the Palace was filled with AC/DC fans who were there to see them. It was merely a teaser act with mostly lame music being belted out. Nonetheless, they tried to rock the house (is on fire) but faired lets say - Fair to Midland at best. Their half hour set ended just in time before mere boredom set in. We wanted to see AC/DC - a band that I have seen since 1980 on every tour and have NOT missed one tour since then. 20 years of AC/DC tours and now they are back in OUR house DETROIT, commonly known as a band favorite to play for, even taping a show for MTV at one time during the For Those About To Rock tour at Joe Louis Arena in 82'.
  • The usual 'hide and seek' game Angus plays in the beginning of the show did not happen. The simply kicked all of our asses! Walked out on stage to a crowd hungry to hear them again. The lights went on stage and they lit the crowd lights on us as if to say " No no, THANK YOU!!" They all walked on stage together, did a bow and just kicked ass by playing "You Shook Me.." Not missing a beat, note or duck-walk, they played better than I had heard them EVER before. That is as serious as I can be people, they played like complete musicians and sounded that way. A surprise to me was hearing for the first time "GET IT HOT"!!! OH my.... A classic to any true AC/DC fans liking, I could almost hear Bon singing that classic line ... "Gotta whole lotta booze..." and they blew me off my feet. I had to restrain the tears. As the show went on I realized that they were not going to do anything that would be "out of the normal" for the band to do - in fact doing what they do best - ROCK. And Rock they did by playing the classic "Bad Boy Boogie" and " Hell ain't a Bad Place to be.." Wow- the beginning of those songs sounded EXACT to the recordings. The whole show was filled with great AC/DC songs that made everyone cheer for more. One song missing that I was amazed by was the song "Sin City" - Still a very popular song here in the Motor City. However - hearing "Get it Hot" was worth the missing song since I have heard that song before live.
  • On a side note: I have mentioned that I have not missed a show since the 80's and have been used to seeing Angus just running around like a mad man ( what else do you expect?!!!). This time around I notice a bit of reservation, a maturity if you will. I counted one time that he fell to the ground and flopped around, 4 times he did his duck walk and only one solo. Is this a bad thing?? NO FREAKIN WAY!!! His age may be catching up to him however the routine is honed and solid and does what he does best when it counts. He is a master guitar player and is among the LAST entertainers that can SINGLE HANDED catch an entire audience attention and mesmerize them. His antics of stirring one side of the crowd up and running to the other side and doing that to them is still a crowd favorite and he has not lost his touch. I hoped that he would do more on the soloing however that is me being selfish.
THEY STILL ROCK EVERYONE!!!! MALCOLM WAS AS SOLID AS EVER AND PHIL WAS RIGHT ON!!!!. PLEASE DON'T MISS THEIR SHOW... WELL WORTH THE EFFORT!!!! GO ANGUS!!!!!
  • Dan Baker
What more can u say except they are simply the best! I seen the show in Detroit and they didn't miss a beat. The sound quality was the best I've ever heard. Angus sounded like he was 25 years old again. I hope they do a second leg of the tour, and come back to Detroit, because AC/DC ROCKS!!!!
  • Seth Dodson
Excellent show last night at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Some of the highlights were "Bad Boy Boogie" and "Let there be Rock". I enjoyed the show but my huge beef was the prices of the merchandise such as t-shirts starting out at $32 and the average cost being $40. I understand but please make them somewhat affordable it is almost as bad a beer prices!!! Angus was great hope they come back again.
  • Kevin
After a long wait of 4 years, the greatest rock band in the world returned to Detroit and rocked their hearts out. The show was fantastic, but what else would you expect from AC/DC? The play list was decent, but I was hoping for a couple of more songs from Stiff Upper Lip (wouldn't "Give it Up" or "Safe in NY City" have sounded great!) and a couple more from Razor's Edge ("Are you Ready" and "Razor's Edge). They could slash the snakepit from the bill and just play great AC/DC music for 2 and half hours, but even then I could probably think of another 10-15 songs they could've done. I just hope they don't wait another 4 years to return to Detroit.
  • Dirk Maiwald
It was an excellent concert!!! Brian Johnson's rocking voice even sounded better than ever before. Angus Young wasn't as active on stage as he used to be! But this concert is a must. Everybody felt the power of heavy Rock 'n Roll. AC/DC proved to be more than just a milestone in Rock History
  • Shawn
WOW!!! What an absolutely amazing show. From the first chords of You Shook Me.. to the blasts of the cannons of For Those About To Rock, AC/DC was absolutely spectacular. Brian's voice has never sounded better and ripped out the solos just like they were on the albums. It was the best rock show ever!! If you have a chance to see the Stiff Upper Lip tour, you have to go. It will be the best 2 hours of your life.
  • Jason
Even though we had seats in the highest row of the Palace AC/DC ROCKED! I have been waiting for this concert for ever and it was worth it. Some of my favorite songs were "The Jack", "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap", and "Highway to Hell". Angus was awesome and he was great to watch. The best song by far was "For Those About To Rock", what a rush when those cannons went off!! Brian Johnson is the BEST and he knows how to have a good time. There is no band even close to rocking as hard as AC/DC. One song I wish they would have played is "Have a Drink on Me". A must see concert!!

What a great show AC/DC put on. This band never gets old. They are definitely the greatest live band today. This was the seventh time I've seen them and they haven't shown any signs of aging. They played over two hours and Angus left everything he had on stage. The sound was killer and the pace was nonstop. AC/DC didn't forget their roots and they played some different Bon Scott material this time such as "Get It Hot" and "Bad Boy Boogie". Brian Johnson sounded excellent as he belted out his screeching vocals. I hope they come back for another show in Cleveland. I just wish I could see them in the old Coliseum in Richfield. That arena blows away the Gund Arena in atmosphere and good times. Everything in that Gund Arena appeals to the yuppies and the rich. One beer, one pop and a small pizza for $13.75, T-shirts for $38, Give me a break. Someone tell me where the nearest Coliseum clone is. I want to see AC/DC in a freedom filled arena. Long live AC/DC and please come back to Cleveland ASAP.
  • Mike
AC/DC RULES!.........Awesome show, the boys may be nearing their 50's but they still rock like teenagers. I took my 10 year old son, it was his first concert, and he loved it!........only complaint would be that they didn't play everything I wanted to hear, but if they did the show would have lasted a week!
  • Daryl
As usual "The Boys" put on a great show at the sold out Gund Arena. They had the same playlist as the Michigan shows. I like "Get It Hot" and "Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be" but the crowd did not really get into either of these. I would have preferred hearing "Money Talks" and another from the "Stiff Upper Lip" CD. But hey, I can't complain....this show rocked for 2 solid hours! The Giant Angus was awesome to see and "Highway To Hell" was worth the ticket price in itself!
  • Brian
What a show! From the set opener You Shook Me to For Those About To Rock, the Gund was rocking. Cool stage set, great songs, what more can you ask for? It was great to hear Bad Boy Boogie after such a long absence. The band sounded great and put on a great show. I've seen them six times now and this was the best show yet.
  • Marty N
Excellent Show. Loved the Pyrotechnics synchronized with Highway to Hell. Drove from Rochester, NY and brought my two kids, 4 and 6. They loved it too. I liked the playlist, nice to hear Get It Hot live!! The band seemed very fresh and packed a lot of energy and the crowd loved it, especially during The Jack. Cheers.
  • Luke Stephens
Holy s%!t...what a show! The band was at full force for their night in Cleveland! I flew all the way from Florida to see AC/DC (a band that I've never seen in concert)! They sounded spectacular! Brian's voice was much stronger than it was for the "No Bull" video. Some guy in another review said that he wishes they played more from the "Bon era." The ten (half) that they did play was two more than they usually do! "Get It Hot" was a surprise performance as well as "Bad Boy Boogie." I actually wanted them to play "Safe In New York City" or even "Hold Me Back," but I was definitely happy. Well...I simply loved the show from the opening riffs of "You Shook Me All Night Long" to the final cannon blasts of "For Those About To Rock." What a show, and even better...they'll be back in the U.S. next summer. Long live the boys from Australia!
  • Chuck Evans
Killer show! Plenty of old and new faces alike in the stands, and the crowd was the most charged I've ever seen before a show. Three cheers! After only three shows the boys have really nailed the groove. Sound was A+++, and the production was first-rate. Snakepit was a waste, and one wonders if the boys (and the fans) would be better off opening their own shows. A quick 45er, half an hour break for a beer, then back to the stage for the body of the show. Maybe then they could haul out some hardly never played nuggets from the past that the fans want to hear (and give Brian a reason to learn the bagpipes!) Oh well, I guess we'll see when they come back Stateside summer '01. Great job, boys! Keep it hard!
  • Mike S
The Show in Cleveland lasted for 2 solid rock filled hours Angus was jamming but could have heard a longer solo. The scissor lift was great for the fans in the center of the arena. For those about to Rock and those wonderful cannons, finished this awesome night of Angus and the gang putting on a show that would having you going back for a second show.

Pittsburgh, PA 6 Aug. 2000

AC/DC has done it again!!! This was my sixth concert I have seen them play. Their most recent effort was either as good or better than any of the previous five shows. The list of 20 songs was excellent. The lone exception was "Get It Hot." While that is a good song, they could had played "High Voltage" or "Girls Got Rhythm." These two would had been better choices.
Musically, they sounded like a well-oiled machine. They gave tremendous efforts from the beginning with the classic "You Shook Me All Night Long" all the way through to the crunching "For Those About To Rock, We Salute You." Perhaps, "Back In Black" or "Thunderstruck" like in previous tours would have been more ideal to start the show, but no complaint here.
Although it was a near sell-out, Pittsburgh ought to be ashamed of themselves for not selling out the place. The crowd who was fortunate to be there was great and loud. From the front row to the back end, the crowd stood up and cheered the whole time. The fans were great, no question about it. There will be no mention of Slash and the Snakepits here. They gave a forgettable effort.
No doubt, I will be looking forward to my seventh AC/DC concert very soon.
  • Blaze Lorio
My ears are still ringing!!! No disappointment at all. Who cares that they only played 2 songs from their new album. Their old songs rock much more anyway. Absolutely the best concert I've ever been too. The 50 year olds going on 20 can still get it!! A+ show
  • Gerard Pratt
I am 16 and I have been to some great concerts in the past few years, but never before have I ever seen a band put on such a show like these guys did. almost every time I go to a concert I try and sneak up closer to the stage and luckily it did this time. Me and a couple of my friends were up pretty close and had one hell of a time. There was something constantly goin on, whether angus rollin around on the stage or cannons were goin off u were just amazed by the raw power that these young guys pump out of the amps. I definitely hope that this band keeps rockin and continues to tour. Slash's Snake pit sucked my balls. They were one of the worst opening acts that I have ever seen. overall the concert was unbelievable, and it was the best thing I did all summer AC/DC FUCKING KICKS ASS!... can't stop rock and roll
  • Rich
You Shook Me, Stiff Upper, Shot Down in Flames, Thunderstruck, Hell Ain't a Bad Place.., Hard as Rock, Shoot to Thrill, R&R Ain't Noise Pollution, Get it Hot, bad Boy Boogie, Hells Bells, The Jack, Satellite Blues, Dirty Deeds, Back in black, Highway, Rosie, Let there Be Rock//TNT, For Those About... 1hr 55mins. Slash's Snakepit played 35 minutes, w/ one GNR tune. Disappointments: the song selection is way similar to previous tours; only two from STIFF UPPER LIP, when there are others that would sound great live; Highlights: Shoot to Thrill; opening w/ You Shook Me is great idea; Back in Black coming late in the set, as opposed to other tours, is terrific placement. Angus hasn't aged, Malcolm and the rest look great.
  • Thomas J. Tobin, Ph.D.
Confession: yes, it's true. I've been a fan of AC/DC ever since I was 9 and snuck out with some older friends to see the Highway to Hell tour. I'm an English professor now, but the suit and tie doesn't dampen my enthusiasm for the Greatest Rock 'n' Roll Show Ever (KISS be damned).
The boys from Down Under have done it again. The show in Pittsburgh was an exercise in contrasts. Opening band Slash's Snake Pit worked over the same old hair-band riffs that made Guns 'n' Roses such one-hit-per-album mainstays of bubble-gum radio in the '80s, even dipping insipidly into the G 'n' R bag for "Mr Brownstone," which sounded worn and tired; as a matter of fact, ol' Slash himself sounded worn and tired, and the spotlight operators didn't even bother to give him a spotlight of his own when he left the middle of the stage. The audience was notably missing during all this ho-hummery; I sat through it, but most of the folks in Mellon Arena were outside having a smoke or waiting in line for $5.00 beers and $38.50 T-shirts (those were the CHEAP ones).
However, when AC/DC took the stage, they came out fast, furious, hard, and pumped. Their opener, "You Shook Me (All Night Long)" was a bit of a surprise, but, then again, so was most of the show. They pulled out lots of the old Bon Scott classics, from the mainstays "The Jack" to "dirty Deeds (Done Dirt Cheap)" to the less-frequently played "Bad Boy Boogie" and "Get it Hot" (a personal fave). The near-capacity crowd was on its feet the whole time (an extra song in the lineup from some of the few previous dates, "Get it Hot," as well as an affable and relaxed--well, almost relaxed--Brian Johnson, made for a 2-hour-and-25-minute extravaganza).
The sets were tight, fast, and, thankfully, uncluttered by gimmickry. In contrast, where Slash's folks thanked their web-site designer and told us that "You guys are the nicest motherf---ers on the whole tour, man; we really mean it!," no BS was heard from the boys in AC/DC; Brian Johnson talked with the crowd, introduced the songs with a curt "this next one's called," and then belted his Edinburgh lungs out. The highlight of the stripped-down video-screen show was a stripped-down intoxicated woman in the crowd, who, when put up on the jumbo screen during "The Jack," treated the crowd to an impromptu upper-torso flash. Stiff Upper Lip, indeed.
The security was perfectly lax, and this concert was a tokers' and bootleggers' dream, so watch the MP3-trading places for good quality recordings from Pittsburgh!
  • Angus Lee Warner
As always, AC/DC put on a kick-ass show. They rocked the house as only AC/DC can do. The only disappointment was the price of AC/DC merchandise. Ten dollars for an AC/DC can cooler, gimme a break.
  • Butch
Saw the boys in Pittsburgh on Sunday night and all I can say is WOW!!! The incredible amount of energy they have, especially Angus and Brian, had me shaking my head in disbelief. I would love to see them again. My 14-year-old son went with me and we had floor seats, it was his first concert and I'm sure he got his eyes and ears full. If you have the chance you'd better go see them---there's no way a true rocker could be disappointed.
  • Todd
Pittsburgh ought to be ashamed not to sell out for these guys. It was a tremendous and energetic show. The only difference in aforementioned set list is they switched "The Jack" in front of "Satellite Blues". Both new tunes came off great in concert. "Whole Lotta Rosie" and "Let There Be Rock" were outstanding. Go see the show!!
  • Michelle
I have been to many, many concerts in my life and no one puts on a more entertaining show than AC/DC. I have seen them 5 times and every time always seems like the first. The only song I missed hearing was "Jailbreak." Other than that, they are, always have been and always will be the greatest rock-n-roll band in history.
