  • The band takes 3 weeks off from recording.

  • 15 & 19: AC/DC headline two days at the "Rock In Rio" festival in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil (Rockdome) in front of 300,000 people. Most of the concerts are televised worldwide.

  February 85
  • 24: End of "Fly On The Wall" recording sessions.
  March 85
  • "Fly On The Wall" is mixed in Sydney, Australia.
  June 85
  • AC/DC worldwide album sales reach 30 million units.

  • The band shoots 5 promotional videos for "Fly On The Wall" at the World’s End Club in New York’s Alphabet City.

  • 21: Single, "Danger / Back In Business", released in the UK.

  • 28: "Fly On The Wall" released worldwide.

  July 85
  • 8: Single, "Danger / Back In Business", released in Europe.

  • Single, "Danger / Back In Business", released in the US and Japan.

  • "Let There Be Rock – The Movie", released in the UK.

  • 20: "Fly On The Wall" enters the US Billboard charts, eventually peaking at #32. It peaks at #7 on the UK charts.

  • "Fly On The Wall" home video released worldwide.

  August 85
  • 5: Album "Fly On The Wall" and single, "Danger / Hell Or High Water", released in Australia.
  September 85
  • AC/DC signs with a new manager, Stewart Young & Part Rock Management.

  • The band finds itself at the center of a huge controversy when serial killer Richard Ramirez, "The Night Stalker", claims AC/DC’s song "Night Prowler" made him commit 16 murders. A cap bearing the AC/DC logo was also found at his apartment. The media (especially in the US) immediately point the finger at the band and accuse them of devil worshiping.

  • 2 - 3: Rehearsals in Binghamton, NY (Broome County Arena).

  • 4 – October 27: US Tour, 42 dates.

  • 23: Single, "Sink The Pink / Back In Business", released in Australia.

  October 85
  • 21: Single, "Shake Your Foundations / Send For The Man", released in the US.

  • City officials in Springfield and Dallas try unsuccessfully to ban the band from playing in their city following the "Night Stalker" controversy.

  November 85
  • Single, "Shake Your Foundations / Send For The Man", released in Japan.

  • 5 - 24: US Tour is extended by 14 dates.

  December 85
  • Recording sessions in Nassau, Bahamas (Compass Point Studios) to record "Who Made Who", "D.T." and "Chase The Ace". Vanda & Young are back as producers.
