  • AC/DC is nominated for the best rock band at the American Music Awards. Air Supply wins this award.

  • 17 – February 25: 2nd leg of the US Tour, 28 dates. Supported by Midnight Flyer. The tour includes 4 dates at the Seattle Coliseum, 2 dates at the L.A. Forum and 3 dates at the Cow Palace in San Francisco.

  • 22: Single, "Let’s Get It Up / Back In Black (Live)", released in the UK.

  February 82
  • Single, "Let’s Get It Up / Back In Black (Live)", released in Europe and Japan.

  • 8: Single, "Let’s Get It Up / Snowballed", released in Australia.

  • 22: Single, "For Those About To Rock (We Salute You) / T.N.T. (Live)", released in the US.

  • Single, "For Those About To Rock (We Salute You) / Let There Be Rock (Live)", released in the UK.

  • 7 - 10: Japan tour, 4 dates. The band has not returned to tour there ever since.

  • The band leaves management firm Leber-Krebs. Their tour manager, Ian Jeffrey, becomes their personal manager.

  • European dates scheduled for France and Germany in August-September are cancelled with no apparent reason.
  August 82
  • 30: Single, "For Those About To Rock (We Salute You) / Let There Be Rock (Live)", released in Australia.
  September 82
  • 29 – October 22: UK/Irish Tour, 19 dates. Includes 4 sold-out dates at the Hammersmith Odeon and 2 sold-out dates at the Wembley Arena.
  November 82
  • 26 – December 12: European Tour, 10 dates covering Germany, France and Switzerland.

  • Three French dates are cancelled.

  December 82
  • 5: Angus jams with the members of Trust at the Rose Bonbon Club in Paris.
