to meet demand and AC/DC breaks the record for number of consecutive

band performs in Hobart, Tasmania where they havent played

19 - 22: Japanese Tour, 3 dates. This is the first time AC/DC
have toured Japan since 1982. No support act.

Back In Black is certified 19 times Platinum in
the States, with sales of over 19 million in the US alone, making
it one of the 10 best sellers ever in the US. Elektra also updates
the certification of the entire US catalogue, which bring the
bands total US sales to date to an astonishing 63 million.
This makes the band the 9th biggest seller of all times in the
US, and the 5th best-selling band behind The Beatles, Led Zeppelin,
Pink Floyd and The Eagles.

18 - May 12: 2nd leg of the US/Canadian Tour, 34 dates. Some
gigs are postponed due to Brian suffering a sore throat at the
end of the tour. Supported by Wide Mouth Mason, Sinomatic then

8 - July 8: Open Air European Stadium Tour Tour,
15 dates covering England, Germany, Czech Republic, Switzerland,
France, Sweden, Finland and Italy. The biggest tour the band
has ever undertaken. It spans 15 cities with various support
acts such as Megadeth, The Offspring, Buddy Guy, Black Crowes
and Die Toten Hosen. The band surprises fans in a couple of
cities by playing an unprecedented final encore after For
Those About To Rock. In Paris, they performed Ride
On for the first time in a tribute (although not announced)
to John Lee Hooker, who passed away the day before. Some shows
are filmed and recorded for a planned DVD release.

It is announced that Brian Johnson will rejoin his old mates
of Geordie (Mark II) for a short tour of the Northern England
Pubs that supported them in the 70s.

28: Brian Johnson plays with his former band Geordie II at
Newcastle's Opera House, for the first time in 21 years. The
set list consist of mostly covers, and is the same as the one
they'd played back in 1980.
