- AC/DC Stamp - 05/31/98
- The Australia Post released a serie of stamps on May 26th to
celebrate the first 20 years of Australian Rock & Roll. Each one
of the 12 stamp is associated with a hit song, including "It's
A Long Way To the Top" by AC/DC (this was the band's first Top
5 hit in Australia), "Friday On My Mind" by the Easybeats and
other titles by The Masters Apprentices, Billy Thorpe, Skyhooks
and others. Contrary to MTV News report, Angus Young does appear
on the stamp. Apart from the Royal Family, the Australia Post
rarely give living people the honor to appear on a stamp. They
surely came a long way from being practically banned from playing
Australia 20 years ago...
