- First Single to radio on Feb.
7th - 02/01/00
- The first single of the album will be the title track "Stiff
Upper Lip". It is going for adds at US radio stations February
7th, and likely to receive airplay at the same time in Europe
& Australia. Elektra US has planned a massive campaign of
listening parties all across the country with over 350 retail
stores, and the album will premiere on many radio stations through
an Album Network Special, a few days before the street date. Massive
promotion campaigns also in place all over the world... The album
will also be released on February 28th in Australia, and should
be available March 8th in Japan. A video is announced for early
March.

- "Stiff Upper Lip"
single premiere - 02/02/00
- "Stiff Upper Lip" (the single) will premiere in the
US on 98Rock Baltimore tomorrow, Feb. 3rd. A 25 second sound clip
is available on their homepage as of today. Check it out at http://www.98online.com
It appears many other stations in the US & all over the world
will start spinning the single tomorrow as well. It will premiere
tonight (US time) on MMM in Melbourne Australia. (http://www.mmm.com.au/)
Two songs have been played by Francis Zegut from RTL in France
yesterday and you can expect more songs to air on this station
very soon. Zegut has been a long-time AC/DC fan and he described
the songs as close to the "Powerage" era AC/DC!

- Live SUL Radio premiere - 02/07/00
- "Stiff Upper Lip" (the album) will premiere in the
US on many radio stations across the country via a satellite broadcast
on Thursday February 24th, starting at 10pm Eastern time. The
band will host the 2 hour radio show live from the Hard Rock cafe
in New York City.

- New Single online - 02/07/00
- The new official Elektra-AC/DC website has just posted the complete
version of the single "Stiff Upper Lip" in Wav and Real
Audio formats.

- SUL Promo campaign - 02/08/00
- The US Promo campaign of "Stiff Upper Lip" will include
a private guitar lesson by Angus which will be auctioned at Ebay,
with biddings starting on Feb. 11th and closing on the 29th. Other
items offered on Ebay will be tickets to the Hard Rock Cafe premiere
(see news item below), and front row seats to the first-ever performance
of the band with Brian Johnson on US TV, for MTV's "@ Large
Week." One of the song performed during this show will be
chosen by fans online through mtv.com. All money raised from the
auctions will be donated to the U.K. and N.Y. chapters of the
Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Foundation, which provide music
therapy treatment for severely disabled children. The band will
also make a rare record store appearance in New York City later
this month. (The press release claims this is their first, but
they actually did some in-stores during the 70's)

- The AC/DC-Elektra auctions start today at 1pm (EST) at

Items on auction are:
- A private online chat with Angus and Brian on MTV.com, prior
to their official chat on MTV.com February 21.
- A chance to participate in the special album premiere party,
hosted by the SFX Network at New York City’s Hard Rock
Café on February 24. The band members will appear in
person to answer questions from the audience as selections from
Stiff Upper Lip are broadcast live to more than 170 participating
stations. The high bidder wins the honor of asking the first
question via phone.

- NBon Scott book to be released
in the US - 02/19/00
- The 1997 controversial book "Highway to Hell: The Life
and Times of AC/DC Legend Bon Scott" will be published for
the first time in the States on May 29th, 2000. It was previously
only available in Australia and the UK, and quite hard to find
now. It can be pre-ordered at Amazon.

- NME report - 02/19/00
- The Feb 5th edition of the New Musical Express reported that
AC/DC (along with Guns N' Roses) may headline the next "Big
Day Out" festival in Milton Keynes Bowl in August, and this
would be the band's last show in the UK ever. They claim that
according to "US sources", "Stiff Upper Lip"
would be the band's last album and the subsequent tour their last
ever. These kind of rumors have repeatedly appeared in the press
on each new album release ever since "Flick Of The Switch"
back in 1983, so you know what to do with it...

- AC/DC scheduled for Saturday
Night Live! - 02/22/00
- The band is set to participate in many mainstream promo events
to support the release of the new album, but get ready for this
one: they have been booked for Saturday Night Live! The show will
take place in New York on March 18th, and this is the first time
in their career they have agreed to appear on a TV show of this
type. Check all the updates on the "Stiff Upper Lip"
promo on the Stiff Upper Lip page, including a new update on all
the US & Canadian radio stations broadcasting the SUL premiere
on Feb. 24th. This event will also be transmitted by video webcast
