Rare CD's

  Some of the rarest CD's...
  • SUPERSTAR CONCERT SERIES (Promo-only live 2 CD's)
  • USA
  • For broadcast 5 Feb. 96
  • Westwood One #96-06
  • CD 1: Live Wire, It's A Long Way To The Top, Soul Stripper, High Voltage (Live London July 76), Let There Be Rock, Problem Child (London Oct. 77)

  • Note: Many live promo CD's have been issued by Westwood One in the States since 1994, but this is the most interesting as it contains live tracks from original BBC broadcasts from 76, 77 & 79 in perfect sound quality, and can easily be found in the States at a decent price. This title has been repressed for rebroadcasts in 1997 and 1998. It comes in a generic paper sleeve with cue-sheets. Worth $40.
  • ALBUM DE LEGENDE - LET THERE BE ROCK (CD Album)
  • France
  • EastWest/Carrere 7567 92445 2
  • Released 1995
  • Tracks: Same as worldwide CD release.
  • Note: This is the first in a serie of "repackaging" by Carrere France, entitled "Legendary Album". The CD comes in a custom cardboard sleeve over the regular CD in jewel case. This specific title is now out of print I believe and hard to find, probably worth $30.
  • Thunderstruck - Fire Your Guns (CD-Single)
  • Japan
  • Atco/MMG AMDY-5031
  • Released 10 Oct. 90
  • Note: All 4 CD-Singles released in Japan so far are very hard to find. The 3" CD's came in a long plastic support with a detachable sleeve. The lyrics are also included. The picture sleeve was usually similar to the European single releases but this one is different. As with each Japanese CD-Single, this one is worth $50.
  • LIVE  - SPECIAL COLLECTOR'S EDITION
  • Japan
  • Atco AMCY 546-6
  • Released 10 Nov. 92
  • Tracks: Same as worldwide version with bonus track "Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be"
  • Note: The Japanese version of this CD is the only one containing "Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be", which is otherwise only available on a CD-Single. It comes with the "Angus dollar" in a  double Jewel case with a cardboard sleeve and a sticker, no OBI. Also included is the booklet-poster and lyrics. Worth $50.

  • Note: This was issued in connection with a competition in Germany. Comes with a (boring) unique cardboard sleeve and worth $75, more due to its rarity than interest.
  • BALLBREAKERS - 17 CLASSIC TRACKS (Promo only CD)
  • UK
  • EastWest/WEA SAM 1693
  • Released Sept. 95
  • Tracks: High Voltage, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Let There Be Rock, Sin City, Whole Lotta Rosie, Highway To Hell, Touch Too Much, Back In Black, Hells Bells, You Shook Me All Night Long, For Those About To Rock, Let's Get It Up, Who Made Who, Heatseeker, Thunderstruck, Ballbreaker, Hard As A Rock.

  • BALLBREAKER (CD)
  • Japan
  • EastWest AMCY-888
  • Released 10 October 1995
  • Same tracks as worldwide version
  • Note: The original release of "Ballbreaker" in Japan came with a special booklet with a discography and a cardboard sleeve. This version, now deleted, is worth $50.
  • A CONCERT BROADCAST WITH AC/DC (Promo-only live 2 CD's)
  • Promo-only live CD
  • Album Network ALB AC/DC
  • For broadcast August 16, 1996
  • CD 1: Back In Black, Shot Down In Flames, Thunderstruck, Girls Got Rhythm, Hard As A Rock, Shoot To Thrill, Boogieman, Hail Caesar.
  • CD 2: The Jack, You Shook Me All Night Long, Whole Lotta Rosie, T.N.T., Let There Be Rock, Highway To Hell, For Those About To Rock
  • Note: This double CD was pressed in very limited quantity for US radio stations in 1996. Post-1980 live radio broadcasts of AC/DC are very rare and this makes this item interesting. The show is the same as the "No Bull" video, in a superb sound quality. It was released with cue sheets and without a picture sleeve. This CD is valued at $150.
  • COCA COLA PLANET LIVE (Promo-only live CD)
  • UK
  • ACDC 01
  • Tracks unknown.
  • Note: This ultra-rare promo-only live CD issued in 1996 most likely contains the same Madrid 1996 concert as the US Album Network CD. It was issued to radio stations in the UK and is extremely rare. Worth $150 to $200.
  • "AUSTRALIAN TOUR PACK 1996" Ballbreaker / Highway To Hell (Double CD)
  • Australia
  • Albert/EMI 7243 4 77112 2 0
  • Released 1996
  • Tracks: Same as worldwide releases of both CD's.
  • Note: This unique title was released to coincide with AC/DC's Australian tour of 1996. Both CD's are included in a double jewel-case with their original CD booklet. The front sleeve is numbered and has a special sticker. This title is now deleted and quite hard to find, worth $50.

  • New Zealand
  • Albert/EMI 88327 12
  • Released Aug. 96
  • Tracks: Ball breaker - You Shook Me All Night Long - Back In Black - Thunderstruck (live)
  • Note: Although the Australian version of this "EP" is very common, this was also released in New Zealand with the same sleeve, except for the country name, in Digipak format as well. This CD-Single was manufactured in Australia for exclusive export to New Zealand, and most certainly pressed in very limited quantity, making it the rarest CD-Single with the Japanese 3", and worth approximately $30.

  • Australia
  • Albert/EMI 8147702
  • Released 14 Oct. 96
  • Tracks: Same as regular CD's
  • Note: EMI issued a few of these double CD's in 1996 but apparently the AC/DC release was withdrawn very quickly. Other releases in this collection stayed available for years but this AC/DC Double CD is now very hard to find. Booklets are the same as the ones in regular CD's but the CD are printed in gold. Worth approximately $50 now.

  • Europe

  • CD2: Let There Be Rock
  • Note: Released only in Argentina, and possibly now deleted, this double CD pack contains the regular remastered CD's of "Powerage" and "Let There Be Rock", but with a unique sleeve. This totally official CD is already very hard to find , and worth at least $50.
  • TRUST (Promo-only CD-Single)
  • France
  • XIII Bis Records TBR000201
  • Released Feb. 00
  • Manque De Trop (Trust) - Morice (Trust) - Marechal (Trust) - Ride On (Trust with Bon Scott on lead vocals)
  • Note: This is the only official release of the famous jam Bon Scott/Trust recorded at Scorpio Studios in London on Feb. 13th, 1980. This version is actually slightly edited and mixed compared to the original recording, which appears on some bootlegs. This version was originally planned to be released an a bonus CD with Trust last album, but this never took place and this version will most likely never be released commercially. Now extremely rare, at has also been released with an alternate sleeve showing a picture of the band. Probably already worth $50.
